We just accept that the early years of raising children are hard. The struggle is presented everywhere, often comically, from movies to daily interactions with families struggling to wrangle young children. As a society, we believe that achieving balance with young kids is impossible. But why? That’s the question we asked ourselves, when we started Brella. As two working moms with 5 kids between us, we just kept failing. Meetings went too late, schools closed too early, babysitters called out sick and ambitions had to take a back seat. The pieces never seemed to fit. So we started from scratch and built a new support system designed to solve the problems we and other families were experiencing.

The FITGuard™ aims to solve the problem of athletes returning to play when there is a high probability of head-injury. Our innovative device significantly increases the likelihood of early detection and the overall safety of athletes around the globe.Utilizing an Accelerometer,Gyroscope, BLE, and High-Luminosity LEDs. The device will constantly sample rates of acceleration. As acceleration increases, the sampling rate will increase proportional. If the peak of that acceleration breaches a threshold the LEDs will indicate. The thresholds are established by using the FIT pre-determined threshold or are user specified. In additional to peak linear and angular acceleration, the duration of the event , will all be transferred to our proprietary mobile application. This allows the users todownload the device event registry log of accelerations. Allowing parents, coaches, leagues to follow their normal concussion protocol, while having some quantitative data to consider. After an event, peak linear and angular acceleration, as well as already establish bio-metric user data such as Age, Weight, and Gender will all be uploaded to the F.I.T centralized database. Over time this database will help us improve the risk indication levels and thresholds used by the FITGuard. Whileadditionally allowing for further analysis of head-injury risk for youth athletes.Our device is the the next step in sports safety evolution. We want to help coaches, parents, and leagues protect youth athletes around the world. We want to provide them with the tools to help make informed decisions about the safety of those athletes and reduce the traumatic effects of possible brain injury.
