The M&A Tax Manager at Armanino will lead and manage tax advisory services for complex M&A transactions, providing strategic guidance on structuring, due diligence, tax planning, and post-transaction integration. The role requires expertise in both U.S. and international tax regulations, strong leadership abilities, and the capability to manage multiple client engagements. As a manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of associates and senior associates and developing client relationships.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage M&A tax due diligence processes, structuring transactions for both buy-side and sell-side clients, and advising on tax-efficient strategies, including financing, acquisitions, and dispositions.

  • Oversee the preparation and review of tax models, structuring presentations, and detailed due diligence reports, ensuring alignment with client objectives and compliance with tax regulations.

  • Manage the execution of complex tax research and analysis on M&A transactions, providing technical guidance on tax planning, tax risk management, and the application of relevant tax laws.

  • Supervise and mentor a team of associates and senior associates, providing on-the-job training and feedback to foster professional development and ensure quality deliverables.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on M&A-related tax issues, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring the delivery of timely, high-quality service.

  • Assist in business development activities, including supporting proposal preparation, contributing to client pitches, and helping expand the firm’s M&A tax practice through networking and thought leadership.

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

  • CPA or equivalent credential

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in tax consulting/compliance within public accounting with a focus on M&A tax, International Tax, or Corporate Tax.

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Taxation

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Northern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $112,500 - $200,000. ​For Southern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $115,000 - $190,000. For New York residents, the compensation range for this position: $110,000 - $190,000. For Washington residents, the compensation range for this position: $115,000 - $175,000. For Illinois residents, the compensation range for this position: $95,000 - $155,000. For Colorado residents, the compensation range for this position: $95,000 - $155,000. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location.
