What We Do:

Huntress is a fully remote, global team of passionate experts and ethical badasses on a mission to break down the barriers to cybersecurity. Whether creating purpose-built security solutions, hunting down hackers, or impacting our community, our people go above and beyond to change the security game and make a real difference.

Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress protects all businesses—not just the 1%—with enterprise-grade, fully owned, and managed cybersecurity products at the price of an affordable SaaS application. The Huntress difference is our One Team advantage: our technology is designed with our industry-defining Security Operations Center (SOC) in mind and is never separated from our service.

We protect 3M+ endpoints and 1M+ identities worldwide, elevating underresourced IT teams with protection that works as hard as they do. As long as hackers keep hacking, Huntress keeps hunting.

What You’ll Do:

As the Senior IT Operations Manager, you will lead a team of Systems Administrators in managing, maintaining, and enhancing our organization's IT infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our systems, enabling our employees to focus on delivering exceptional cybersecurity solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Systems Administrators, providing technical guidance, and ensuring adherence to IT policies and procedures. You will also play a key role in planning and executing system upgrades, enhancements, and security measures.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Systems Administrators, fostering a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Systems Administration team, ensuring the timely and effective resolution of IT issues
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and security standards
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, enhancements, and migrations, minimizing disruptions to business operations
  • Manage the IT budget, including forecasting resource requirements and evaluating potential investments in new technologies
  • Proactively identify and mitigate IT risks, ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between IT operations and business objectives
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends, identifying opportunities to enhance IT service delivery
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on IT performance, including key metrics and areas for improvement
  • Ensure the availability and reliability of our IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and SaaS applications
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring service level agreements are met

What You Bring To The Team:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 4 years in a management role.
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, storage, and virtualization technologies
  • Proven track record in managing and developing high-performing IT teams
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving IT challenges
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor for IT matters and proactively addressing their needs and concerns
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure
  •  Proficiency in scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Python, for automation and task management
  • Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Experience with SaaS administration and management, including user provisioning, access control, and application integration
  • Knowledge of SaaS security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, and vulnerability management

What We Offer:

  • 100% remote work environment - since our founding in 2015

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
