The Workday Platform lead partners with internal and external business and technical stakeholders to understand the business processes, to deliver the appropriate integrations, custom interfaces, data models, data movement and security within the Workforce Management eco-system.  Workday is the core Workforce Mgt platform which was reimplemented from green field in February 2024. The Workday Platform Lead will be a part of the Workforce Mgt team.  This role requires both the ability to innovate and deliver key technical functionality.. The role also interacts with various business units and integration partner to support all current and future workflows, integrations, custom interfaces, data models, data movement and security requirements as well as trouble shooting issues and support ticket resolution.   This role is at the forefront of innovation within the Workday ecosystem, creating cutting-edge solutions that redefine the boundaries of what is possible.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business and technology partners to define solution options in an agile delivery environment that create business value.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, support and monitor workflows, integrations, custom interfaces, data models and data movement throughout the workforce management technology landscape by utilizing Workday Platform tools. 
  • Support Workday reports, security, and data movement for key Workday Core HCM, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Onboarding, and Offboarding and external payroll applications.
  • Work with security and stakeholders to ensure Workday security model meets the needs of the business.
  • Work with People and Organization team members to perform organizational and hierarchy updates in Workday.
  • Author appropriate business documents such as requirements and traceability, technical design, architectural domain and data movement diagrams, quality assurance processes, custom integrations, data models, and security. 
  • Implement standard operating procedures for tenant management.
  • Facilitate sessions with functional owners, technology partners and end-user representatives to ensure processes and technologies align for the most efficient solutions.
  • Support HCM and Payroll audits, error handling and issue resolution

Key Competencies/Core Knowledge

  • Technical certification and excellence in Workday Platform, tools, studio, security and tenant management
  • Experienced in designing, building, testing, and maintaining Workday apps to address business and technical issues.
  • Proficient in cloud computing, web services, and related challenges.
  • Lead technical decisions in a collaborative team setting, including architecture, estimation, product planning, and user story/requirement creation. 
  • Communicates Effectively with technical and non-technical partners
  • Creative innovative solutions leveraging Workday and other technologies to support data movement.
  • Optimize work processes and technologies to operate efficiently.
  • Self starter and self motivated.
  • Team player and cultural fit for a fast paced and rapidly changing environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, MIS, related field or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 5+ years designing, building, testing, deploying, supporting Workday Platform tools such as  Studio, WECI, and PECI
  • 5+ years Workday reporting, EIB and Workday Platform tools experience
  • Experience with Workday Extend, Adaptive and/or VNDLY is a plus
  • Experience with Web Services, XML, XSLT, Java
  • Experience with Workday BIRT and Workday calc fields.
  • Experience working with SaaS solutions and vendors as integration partners
  • Experience with Service oriented and distributed application architecture in the enterprise (web services, data access and persistence, client/server, etc)
  • Experience with SOAP and REST based WebServices, API’s, Database-level integrations/ETL
  • Experience with agile framework and work planning/delivery
  • Hands-on experience with report writing, data management/data movement in a Workday centric environment

The anticipated base salary for this position is $138,000-$167,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
