CSC Generation Enterprise (CSC) is an AI-enabled multi-brand platform that acquires and transforms retailers into profitable, digital-first, consumer-centric businesses. CSC's retail platform is purpose built around its core M&A strategy and drives alpha by encoding revenue growth, unit margin management, and other expert-level retail practices into automation and AI. CSC owns and operates more than 10 retail, eCommerce, and wholesale companies, including Sur La Table, Backcountry, and One Kings Lane.

 

We are  seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Corporate Development, Porfolio Operations to drive the company's growth strategy through strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and other corporate development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic opportunities that align with CSC Generation's long-term objectives.

 

This position will report into the CEO. 

What you get to do every day:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and refine CSC Generation's corporate development strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and growth targets.
  • Lead the end-to-end M&A process, including target identification, operational and financial due diligence, valuation analysis, negotiation, and integration planning.
  • Lead post-acquisition operational integration, including aligning systems and processes, driving synergy realization, and implementing performance tracking across acquired portfolio companiesCollaborate with operational teams to develop and execute post-merger integration plans, ensuring seamless transition and realization of synergies.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and potential investment opportunities within the retail and consumer sectors.
  • Perform financial modeling, valuation analysis, and investment thesis development to evaluate potential M&A targets and partnership opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, board members, investors, and potential partners.
  • Identify and assess risks associated with potential transactions, and develop mitigation strategies to protect CSC Generation's interests.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.

What you bring to the role:

  •  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA or equivalent 
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, with a proven track record of executing complex M&A transactions and strategic partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of the retail and consumer industries, with experience evaluating market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and growth opportunities.
  • Strong financial acumen, including proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and deal structuring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results in the face of ambiguity and complexity.
