OVERVIEW
The Global Sustainability manager role contributes to the overall company strategy focus on sustainability. This position works closely with key stakeholders in the organization, provides leadership, support and guidance on sustainability initiatives, and global certifications for both Alo and Bella+Canvas.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development of company’s sustainability strategy and reporting efforts in support of the organizational goals
- Acts as a liaison to various departments within the company worldwide
- Work closely with the executive team, to evaluate the effectiveness of and the potential of unique projects/programs and functions
- Responsible of establishing a system for providing regular feedback and reporting through data tracking and analysis
- Develop control and cost containment KPIs, and tracking metrics associated with waste management
- Monitor for and advise on potential impacts of changes in federal, state and local rules and regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to draft propose projects’ scope, schedules, and plans for execution
- Research sustainability issues and best practices for remediation
- Set metrics and empowered internal teams to drive sustainable practices from the inside out
- Responsible of establishing an internal communication channel, to keep all employees up to date on all sustainable practices carried out
- Develop project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on schedule
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Project Management or business-related field
- 5-8+ years of Sustainability Projects experience in the textile manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of local and international environmental law is required
- 3+ years of experience in a management role is a must
- Advance knowledge of Excel and office package is desirable
- Well organized and results driven
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably with a focus on sustainability projects
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to set high personal goals and work independently
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Proven acuity in MS office suite, internet and data-base management
The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - 120,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits
