Job Description
The Post Production team is hiring a Supervisor, Metadata Operations to assist the Metadata & Operations team for our direct-to-consumer streaming service, Peacock. This role will have direct responsibility for creating and optimizing the metadata that appears on our streaming service - from the visible words on the platform to the behind-the-scenes tags fueling platform features. The Metadata Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring creative and operational excellence across Direct-to-Consumer platforms.
- Responsible for leading and managing a team of metadata professionals including: hiring, training and performance management in a hybrid work environment.
- Oversees the optimization of a high volume of descriptive metadata in English and Spanish where applicable.
- Ensures copy deliverable timelines are successfully met for fast-paced content launches.
- Effectively communicates creative copy specifications with internal and external partners, including detailed style guidance presentations required for successful onboarding.
- Track and derive reporting system defects, reliability and availability. Facilitate monthly/bi weekly status meetings and review of support analytics and productivity.
- Develop pitches and presentations that capture areas of focus and appropriate departmental initiatives functional and technical reporting metrics.
- Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with initiatives and projects.
- Develop cross-functional workflows across organizations within the enterprise, create detailed SOPs as needed, and leverage digital tools to create complex, scalable, and iterative processes.
- Partner with and develop strong stakeholder relationships with business leaders. This includes working closely with O&T business units.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
We are seeking a solutions-minded, critical thinker, and wordsmith who is adept at swiftly handling change in a constantly evolving industry.
- 5+ years editorial copyediting and proofreading experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and influence others without direct authority.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills and must be willing to complete copywriting, proofreading, and keyword tagging test.
- Ability to write in a wide variety of styles (short and long-form), adjusting for purpose, audience, tone, and copy specification guidelines (bilingual in Spanish a plus).
- Film and television subject matter expertise, including a demonstrated interest in current events, pop culture, and sports entertainment.
- The ability to prioritize and concurrently handle multiple, time-sensitive requests in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to support an ever-changing content pipeline 7 days a week; must be willing to work evenings, weekends, extended hours or holidays as needed.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be willing to travel for business as needed with the potential for short term assignment(s) at NBC facilities.
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. This position will be based out of our Universal City or Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Exceptional technical, analytical, organization, research, and presentation skills
- 2+ years managing and overseeing staff
- Strong team building, vendor, and customer relations skills.
- Familiarity with Gracenote or other metadata aggregation services.
- Strong comfort level with taxonomy management and metadata best practices.
- Curiosity for consumer insight research, cultural nuance, and linguistic diversity.
- Fluency in Spanish language.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $85,000 - $100,000 (bonus eligible)
