We are a fast-growing, direct-to-consumer e-commerce brand that’s female-founded and owned. Our brand collaborations include Alltrue (formerly CAUSEBOX) and we’ve been featured in Brit + Co, Business Insider, and Nasdaq.

Job Description

We are looking for a social media-savvy intern to join our collaborative and creative team! The intern will help create and coordinate our social media posts on TikTok and Instagram. The ideal candidate has a “roll-up-your-sleeves” or “no-job-is-too-small” attitude and is fluent in TikTok, keeps up with pop culture and trends, has a knack for creating engaging short-form videos and content (graphics a plus!), and is driven by fostering a community.

This position will assist with ideation, social content planning, content creation, scheduling and posting, community management, and sourcing content. Above all, this is an opportunity for the right candidate to learn how a fast-growing startup works, receive mentorship from the co-founders, and gain valuable experience and exposure to entrepreneurship.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Help ideate and create digital content for social media posts on TikTok and Instagram

  • Write captions and content consistent with PRISM’s brand voice

  • Stay on top of social media trends, research, and algorithm updates to keep PRISM at the cutting edge of social presence

  • Monitor communications/messages from our community on all social channels

  • Generate and execute social ideas as a part of larger marketing campaigns

  • Monitor alerts or mentions/tags of PRISM Bags from general supporters and users on all social media platforms

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled at an accredited high school, 2-year, or 4-year university and reside in Los Angeles County

  • Demonstrated ability to use the TikTok app to create content and grow a following

  • Strong understanding of the digital landscape, popular culture, and the newest social media trends and user behaviors

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic knowledge of social media analytics tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Canva or Adobe Illustrator for designing social media posts

  • Deep love of social media and desire to research, engage, report, and optimize

  • Enthusiasm about sustainability, fashion, and PRISM Bags’ products

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
