POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Social Media Manager, reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing – Mauna Loa, you will be responsible for devising strategies and creating content for all social media channels representing our consumer brands, Hawaiian Host and Mauna Loa. Your role involves ensuring that each brand's short and long-term goals are reflected and supported across these platforms. Furthermore, you will lead the planning and implementation of diverse initiatives, manage community engagement activities, and coordinate influencer programs.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Strategy Development
  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies tailored to meet the unique goals of each brand, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize engagement on platforms including, but not limited to: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure synergy between social media activities and broader marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Monitor social media trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities for campaign optimization and stay ahead of emerging trends.
  • Remain current with evolving social media best practices, algorithms, and platform updates to optimize content strategies and ensure compliance with platform guidelines.
  • Adapt initiatives swiftly in response to platform changes and provide strategic guidance on new and emerging platforms to maintain brand relevance and reach.

  • Content and Influencer Program Management 
  • Develop and maintain monthly content calendars encompassing planning, scheduling, daily publishing, and community management.
  • Take the lead in asset creation, including collaborating with brands during brainstorming sessions, and managing external partners such as photographers, videographers, and content creators.
  • Establish and nurture influencer relationships, both paid and earned, ensuring impactful and efficient programs. Manage day-to-day operations like seeding relationships or sending mailers and remain agile to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Manage and execute giveaways and promotional contests to boost engagement and brand visibility.
  • Initiate partnership proposals with other brands to foster follower growth and expand brand reach.
  • Collaborate with brand teams to brainstorm earned/owned strategies, including PR opportunities, aimed at amplifying brand awareness.
  • Develop and maintain a performance scorecard aligned with the objectives of each brand.
  • Oversee the social media budget across both brands, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum impact.

  • Community Engagement/Management 
  • Monitor and analyze user-generated content and online discussions pertaining to our brand, offering insights and recommendations for brand reputation management, and enhancing customer relationships.
  • Actively engage with online communities by promptly and professionally responding to comments, messages, and inquiries, collaborating closely with our customer support and marketing teams to ensure cohesive communication and brand representation.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Exemplify adherence to company policies and procedures while consistently upholding high standards in all responsibilities.
  • Fulfill any additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to meeting organizational needs.
  • Attendance to events/tradeshows is required for this position. These events/tradeshows may require travel and may be outside of normal business day/hours.
  • Regular attendance is required for the position.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field is required.
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience as a social media content creator, preferably in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Experience in capturing short-form video and still content (i.e., BTS content, Reels, Stories) using native platform or best-in-class third party applications. 
  • Demonstrated track record of effectively managing influencer and content campaigns to achieve success metrics.
  • Experience collaborating with creative agencies and cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive campaigns.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including effective project management and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas effectively and build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving, data analysis, and critical thinking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as required.
