As a Senior TPM, you’ll be responsible for defining and executing the strategy for core platform capabilities that power our product portfolio. You’ll partner closely with engineering, architecture, security, and functional product teams to build scalable, reliable, and extensible solutions that improve developer experience, reduce time-to-market, and increase overall system efficiency.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the product lifecycle for one or more core platform capabilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, architecture, and product teams to deeply understand technical needs and business context.

  • Drive requirements gathering, documentation, and prioritization for foundational services and systems.

  • Translate complex business and technical concepts into clear product narratives and development plans.

  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, observable, and supportable from day one.

  • Define KPIs and success metrics for platform adoption, performance, and efficiency.

  • Build alignment across stakeholders, balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform vision.

Basic Requirements:

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years owning technical or platform products.

  • 8+ years experience showing a deep understanding of how platform capabilities (e.g., infrastructure, deployment, observability, authentication, APIs) drive product success.

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or similar technical focus

Preferred Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work across teams and influence without authority in a matrixed environment.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to tailor messages to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong technical acumen; able to engage with engineers and architects in deep technical discussions.

  • Experience working with internal developer platforms or building foundational services used across multiple product teams.

  • Proven track record of managing complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and technical constraints.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
