Hulu's Product team is responsible for building the Hulu app experience to engage, retain, and delight our 50M+ viewers. Our team is highly passionate about delivering against where Hulu's strengths meet our opportunities: aggregated content experiences, flexible technical capabilities that power our business, and providing user choice and control for our subscribers.
Our ultimate goal is a functional experience that is in seamless harmony across our subscriber base as well as all of our partner teams at Hulu. In other words, we succeed when we simultaneously make our viewers happy while also meeting myriad business goals and objectives. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager II who will own and drive product strategy and development within our Platform Experience team, with a specific focus on delivering user choice, control, and customization via scalable and delightful end-user features.
With proven experience digging into data, performing and maximizing user research, and experimentation, our ideal candidate will wish there were more hours in the day to test out their next hypothesis. The right person for this role understands that building a successful experience is not a zero-sum game, even though sometimes it may seem that way. In turn, you will navigate strong personalities and opinions with kindness and teamwork. You will be partnering across many levels within the organization, and as such, your ability to communicate and influence effectively is absolutely vital. In the end, you are a champion for the user, and you are relentlessly in pursuit of making our subscriber's experience with Hulu easier, useful, and effective.
Job Responsibilities
First 30 Days:

  • Meet the team and begin learning about our culture, priorities, & practices
  • Complete onboarding process to establish goals and learn about our current users and capabilities
  • Work directly with Hulu's Product team to develop, improve, and evaluate elements of the overall product strategy


90 Days:

  • Own and begin to drive critical features for our product, specifically focused on user choice and customization
  • Build and discuss the roadmap and key success metrics
  • Become familiar with existing dashboards and user research
  • Find opportunities to optimize the Hulu experience and build experimentation plans to support those decisions with data


First year:

  • Collaborate with Product Managers across pillars and teams to define product requirements and drive your roadmap priorities through their constituent teams and workstreams
  • Leverage analytics and insights to propose, develop, and launch highly-effective product features
  • Collect and synthesize top-level product metrics and regularly present and share with the wider Hulu Product team


Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of product management, experimentation, user research, driving strategy for digital media/streaming business or other relevant experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required
  • A demonstrated passion for analytics and a willingness to dive really deep into the data
  • A consistent track record of delivering product features and optimizations that drive engagement
  • Familiarity with user segmentation and cohort analysis
  • A strategic mind, always with a view further out than anyone else in the room
  • A proven track record to find creative compromises in ambitious circumstances
  • A history of establishing and maintaining successful cross-functional relationships
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • A sense of humor


Preferred Education

  • M.B.A. or Masters Degree in a relevant discipline


The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $149,300 to $200,200 year, in San Francisco is $163,500 to $219,200 per year, and New York, NY or Seattle, WA is between $1156,300 - $209,600. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
