Are you who we're looking for?

As a Senior Product Designer at Clair, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and visual identity of our products. You will take ownership of complex design challenges and lead initiatives that elevate our design standards. Your work will directly influence how users interact with Clair, ensuring a seamless, engaging, and effective experience.

What will you do at Clair?

  • Conduct and synthesize user research to deeply understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Translate insights into actionable design strategies.
  • Create detailed wireframes, prototypes, and workflows to test and iterate on design concepts, ensuring usability and alignment with user goals.
  • Develop high-quality visuals and interfaces that enhance the look, feel, and usability of our products, aligning with Clair’s branding and design guidelines.
  • Provide mentorship to junior designers, fostering growth and skill development within the team.
  • Partner closely with product managers, engineers, data and other stakeholders to ensure designs are feasible, technically sound, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance Clair’s branding materials and overall visual identity.
  • Maintain and evolve Clair’s design systems to ensure consistency, scalability, and innovation across products.
  • Move fast and be flexible. At Clair, we are constantly taking in new information that contributes to the overall business objectives. You should be comfortable working in a startup environment where priorities shift.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or a related field, with a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise, preferably in the fintech or financial services industry.
  • Mastery of Figma, including auto-layouts and component-based designs
  • Experience in conducting and applying qualitative and quantitative user research to inform design decisions.
  • Exceptional ability to tackle complex design challenges with creativity and sound judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight, managing multiple high-impact projects effectively.

Additional Details

Location: This role can be based in NYC or Remote.  

Compensation: The annual base salary for this role is $155,200.00 for New York City residents. The actual base pay within these ranges depends on many factors, such as education, skills and experience. Base pay is only one part of Clair’s competitive total compensation package which includes benefits, perks and equity. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
