Our Senior Portfolio Manager role provides strategic and tactical support for creating and sustaining effective demand and resource management processes across Enterprise Technology. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for providing analysis, forecasting and reporting to align portfolio data to projects, programs and resources. You will collaborate with teammates, leaders, and stakeholders from Technology, business and finance to ensures program/project alignment with organizational strategies, lead the selection of programs or projects with senior leaders, prioritize work, and allocate the necessary resources for project success. This person will play an integral role in building a cross-functional project portfolio management (PPM) center of excellence in Enterprise Technology. The position requires interaction with cross-functional departments, collaboration across other technology portfolios, and excellent verbal and written communication and relationship management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of project portfolio including ideation, scoping, prioritization, and activation of projects within Enterprise Technology
- Conduct ongoing portfolio review meetings with executives to establish a prioritized portfolio
- Establish and refine processes related to demand management and resource allocation
- Define, establish , and implement enhancements to portfolio process definition, procedural documentation, tool requirements and end user training
- Create and influence documentation for rollout of demand management and resource allocation processes
- Support financial approval process
- Ensure conversion of ideas to projects that were committed during AOP
- Develop and foster relationships and engagement models with Enterprise Technology leaders, PMO lead, project managers, and external partners
- Elevate awareness of cross-portfolio dependencies and impacts
- Exercise critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical capabilities with strong attention to detail
- Collaborate and delegate to Portfolio and Resource Analyst
- Drive and own completion of special projects (up to 10%)
- Deliver on ad-hoc requests as required (up to 10%)
Qualifications
- 7 + years combined IT experience in portfolio, demand, or resource management strongly preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Experience supporting a large technology portfolio of project and operational investments with multiple business stakeholders
- Experience in a program management role with multiple contributing projects
- Demonstrable work experience with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Demonstrable experience with a PPM tool (e.g., Clarity, Planview, Align)
- Ability to present materials to management to drive decision making
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organization
- Exhibits critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical capabilities with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work and adapt to a fast-paced dynamic environment with consistent change
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office online and collaboration tools
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certifications desired: Portfolio Management Professional ( PfMP ) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Resource Management experience is a plus
The hiring range for this position in California is $$126,400.00-$169,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
