About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Marketing Analyst who can drive performance insights, bring clarity to complex datasets, and strengthen our marketing infrastructure. This is a hands-on role that blends technical skills with strategic thinking to ensure our marketing investments are optimized and aligned with business growth.

The ideal candidate is naturally curious, fluent in marketing metrics and systems, and energized by solving real operational problems — from attribution modeling to data integration and automation opportunities. You'll collaborate closely with marketing, sales, product, and finance teams to ensure actionable insights are driving decisions across the funnel.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze datasets from platforms like HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, and paid media channels (e.g., Google Ads, Meta)
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs that track performance across acquisition, retention, CAC, LTV, and funnel conversion
  • Conduct campaign performance analyses including A/B and multivariate testing
  • Perform customer segmentation to personalize messaging and improve targeting
  • Evaluate attribution models to understand the customer journey and inform budget allocation

Data Modeling & Visualization

  • Leverage data warehouse tools such as Amazon Redshift to query and structure datasets
  • Build interactive dashboards and compelling visual reports using Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, or similar
  • Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Marketing Optimization

  • Translate performance data into actionable marketing strategies
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in campaign workflows and lead tracking
  • Recommend enhancements to campaign targeting, spend efficiency, and channel mix
  • Stay current on industry trends in marketing analytics, martech, and growth

Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects with timely execution
  • Work closely with marketing, product, and engineering teams to align technical and strategic goals
  • Support marketing leadership in quarterly planning and performance reviews

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Marketing Tech Automation

  • Explore and implement AI-powered marketing tools and automations that improve operational efficiency (e.g., lead scoring, prompt-based campaign creation, predictive analytics)
  • Partner with technical stakeholders to assess integration of LLMs and automation platforms into Empowerly’s martech stack
  • Identify opportunities to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance attribution, segmentation, and reporting through AI solutions
  • Stay up to date on evolving AI trends in marketing and bring innovative ideas to the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Econometrics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in marketing analytics, marketing operations, or data analysis roles
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data warehousing platforms (e.g., Amazon Redshift)
  • Experience building dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, or similar tools
  • Strong knowledge of attribution modeling, funnel analytics, and marketing experimentation frameworks
  • Experience with web analytics tools (Google Analytics), CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce), and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo, Pardot) is a plus
  • Excellent communicator, able to simplify complex insights for diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
