Maven is the gold standard in post-grad education for product, design, & engineering professionals. We’re looking for a hands-on marketer to scale our organic student lead volume, with a focus on social content and engagement.
Role Overview
We have a large organic student base, including 500K+ registered users, and 500+ expert instructors. Our top of funnel comes from the social activity of our instructors, predominantly on LinkedIn. They have an engaging professional brand that attracts potential students, and their content is valuable (see Satish, or Tal for example). Our students are on LinkedIn too. They often recommend a course that was a game changer for them, or share about our free Lightning Lessons, like here, here and here. Every week our instructors run over 30 live, free Lightning Lessons, and we now have a catalog of over 800 on-demand lessons: a goldmine for social content repurposing. In short, we have the foundation for powerful organic reach, and your role is to leverage this opportunity to drive new qualified, organic leads to Maven. To succeed, you’ll work on the following 3 areas, with a focus on LinkedIn:
- Social engagement - Define our approach, and lead execution
- Content distribution - Build a system to repurpose and distribute Lightning Lessons at scale (eg. snippets, supercuts, summaries…)
- Editorial strategy - Be our content director (eg. own our POV on key topics, write instructor profiles, thematically curate our free lesson catalog)
Team & Culture
This role reports to Vanina (Head of Marketing) and works alongside Rachel. Maven is committed to having a small, empowered team (currently 20 total), so you should be excited to do your own customer research, strategic thinking, project management, and end-to-end execution.
We are high-ownership, but we are also high-collaboration. We all post regular status updates to dedicated slack channels to get input. If you’re blocked everyone is there to help (but otherwise we’ll assume you’re on it). This makes Maven a great cross-functional learning environment. Expect direct feedback!
Ownership, collaboration and feedback are not just nice ideas here; we are fully remote, so they are the foundation of our success, and we are intentional about them. We are a writing-focused company, with no-meeting Wednesdays for creative space. We gather for a week-long offsite twice a year so everyone in our lean and talented team can contribute to company strategy, and get absurdly competitive over random games.
What We’re Looking For In This Role
- Experience leveraging social distribution to drive lead growth - a strong pulse on what drives engagement
- Evidence of exceptional and reliable taste in brand and content decisions
- Experience with content creation and video repurposing, applied AI use a plus
- Mastery of the written word, especially on social, but not only
- Stretch between strategic thinking and hands-on execution power
Compensation
$150k-$200k in salary, with strong benefits, and equity.
Salary is open to review based on candidate experience; please apply if you know you’re a great candidate.
Location
Remote; US time zone +/- 1hr
