Role Description

As a Senior Manager, Product Insights within the Product Marketing team, you will play a critical role in shaping product strategy and go-to-market decisions across Dropbox file sync and Dropbox Dash. Your work will span areas such as product performance tracking, market opportunity analysis, pricing and packaging insights, and cross-functional business planning.

This is a highly cross-functional role where you’ll act as the connective tissue between Product, PMM, Growth, Sales, and Marketing teams—ensuring our product portfolio reflects a deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and business priorities. You’ll partner closely with our research & insights, data science, and strategy teams to synthesize user behavior, market trends, and competitive benchmarks into clear, actionable recommendations for product strategy and commercialization.

You’ll play a crucial part in enabling smarter decisions across the product lifecycle—from early-stage validation through monetization and long-term success metrics. You’ll get substantial exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape the trajectory of Dropbox’s most important product lines.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic insights partner to Product and PMM teams by identifying key trends, usage patterns, and opportunities across the Dropbox file sync and Dropbox Dash portfolios.
  • Analyze product usage and customer behavior to assess alignment between marketing narratives and actual adoption—surfacing gaps and informing lifecycle, monetization, and cross-sell strategies.
  • Own segmentation insights for Dash, partnering with Analytics, Sales Ops, and GTM teams to connect industry, functional, and firmographic data to product engagement, pipeline, and adoption patterns.
  • Collaborate with Research, Analytics, and Business Strategy teams to synthesize customer feedback, usage data, competitive intel, and analyst inputs into strategic product and marketing recommendations.
  • Provide input into product roadmaps by identifying whitespace opportunities and surfacing unmet customer needs across priority segments.
  • Support business planning processes (e.g., OKRs, strategic narratives, market sizing) by contributing insights that guide investment and prioritization decisions.
  • Translate complex data and insights into clear, compelling narratives for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, strategy, product management, insights/analytics, or a related field in B2B or B2B2C tech environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working closely with data teams and tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Looker, Excel).
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear, actionable strategies and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating across product, marketing, and analytics teams to drive business outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience crafting insight-driven narratives for executive audiences.
  • Experience in product lifecycle management, GTM planning, or monetization strategy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional, and often ambiguous environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with pricing/packaging research, behavioral segmentation, or customer journey analysis.
  • Familiarity with Dropbox products or adjacent markets (e.g., collaboration tools, productivity platforms, cloud storage, AI-enabled workflows).
  • Prior experience supporting B2B SaaS product lines or portfolio strategy functions.
  • Experience using research or insights to inform cross-functional roadmap planning.
  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
