The Role 

SENIOR HR BUSINESS PARTNER  

Role Overview As the Senior HR Business Partner, you will act as a strategic advisor to leadership, driving people and culture initiatives that scale business growth. You will bridge the gap between company vision and operational reality, maintaining a seamless balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution across our diverse Corporate, Field/Store, and Distribution Center teams. 

  

Work Structure & Details 

  • Format: Hybrid 

  • Schedule: 3 days in office per week 

  • Location: Playa Vista, CA 

  • Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Head of HR

Key Responsibilities 

  • Strategic Leadership: Partner directly with business leaders across corporate, field, and supply chain networks to align people strategies with commercial objectives. Provide actionable insights on organisational design, culture, and workforce planning. 

  • Balanced Execution: Maintain the balance of high-level strategic planning with a hands-on commitment to operational execution. Ensure HR programs are built effectively and delivered flawlessly across frontline, logistical, and corporate environments. 

  •  Multi-Site Talent Management: Oversee a diverse talent lifecycle, customizing onboarding, growth, and retention strategies to fit the distinct needs of office, retail store, and warehouse populations. 

  •  Performance & Succession: Champion a culture of high performance. Advise and guide managers through complex performance issues, goal setting, and robust succession planning tailored to both hourly and salaried workforces. 

  •  Change Management: Guide the organization through periods of transition, network growth, and retail evolution. Help leaders build change plans that minimize disruption and maximize employee engagement. 

  •  HR Programs & Policy: Oversee the development and administration of core HR programs, including compensation, benefits, and employee relations, while ensuring strict compliance with local, state, and federal labor regulations. 

  •  Process & Technology Optimization: Leverage the Oracle HRIS platform to continuously evaluate, streamline, and optimize HR operations, payroll touchpoints, and compliance data to drive operational efficiency. 

Requirements 

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong foundation across talent management, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and compliance. 

  • Industry Focus: Prior HR experience supporting retail store operations, distribution/logistics facilities, and corporate environments. 

  • Technical Skills: Hands-on proficiency and experience utilizing Oracle HRIS for data management and operational workflows. 

  •  Execution & Strategy: Proven ability to balance high-level strategic alignment with the grit required to execute day-to-day HR deliverables across multiple sites. 

  • Business Acumen: Strong critical thinking skills with a proven ability to translate commercial retail, field, and supply chain goals into strategic HR initiatives. 

  • Change Agent: Demonstrated experience successfully guiding organizations through periods of growth, restructuring, or cultural change. 

  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, with a track record of building trust and influencing frontline managers to executive leaders. 

  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  

  • Ability to move around the store throughout the shift/workday   

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly (e.g., boxes or other merchandise packages, bins, clothing racks, stools/ladders)  

  • Ability to regularly squat/kneel (e.g., to access under-storage bins, during visual resets)  

  • Ability to regularly use a ladder, step stool or raised platform safely to complete required tasks

CA: This is a full time salary role with the annual wage range of $145,000 - $170,000/yr
