The Role

As a Senior Growth Product Manager at a large international media company, you will define, execute, and deliver one of our digital product lines. You will gather requirements from editorial stakeholders, vet them against competitors and market trends, create the roadmap and user stories for your product line, and own the backlog in our Agile delivery process.

This role is inherently cross-functional as you’ll be leading a product development team that does not report directly to you. This means you must be ready to lead by example and win the trust of your colleagues. To be a successful candidate for this role, you are a proven product manager with experience working on customer-facing products and agile delivery expert, able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high-performance, simple, and secure experiences that our audiences will love.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the development of the consumer-focused product strategy and vision
    supported by internal and external analysis.
  • Develop and implement growth strategies focused specifically on user 
    retention and loyalty metrics.
  • Design and optimize user onboarding journeys to maximize user activation
    and engagement.
  • Collaborate with data/analytics teams to establish key loyalty metrics and 
    build dashboards for tracking user behavior
  • Lead A/B testing initiatives to continuously improve user engagement and 
    retention.
  • Identify opportunities for personalization that increase user affinity and 
    return visits.
  • Create and manage loyalty-focused features (e.g.; content 
    recommendations, notifications).
  • Work with marketing teams to develop re-engagement campaigns for 
    lapsed users
  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s
    ability to meet strategic and technical goals.
  • Maintain project controls that accurately reflect completed work against 
    project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with editorial stakeholders and 
    technical project leads.
  • Collaborate with other product owners on dependencies.
  • Continually drive product development towards a meaningful balance 
    between user needs, business objectives, resource utilization, and
    technical feasibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in growth product management with demonstrable results in improving user retention
  • Strong background in user engagement analytics and lifecycle marketing.

  •  

    Experience implementing and optimizing loyalty features in digital products.

  • Proven track record of increasing key retention metrics (e.g., DAU/MAU, retention curves, repeat visit rate).

  • Experience with subscription or membership models in digital media (if applicable).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated
  • Experience working with designers and creative teams to develop amazing user experiences.
  • Experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
  • Familiarity with user segmentation and cohort analysis methodologies

  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience coordinating complex product development cycles and software development schedules.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.
  • Passion for both technology and world affairs.

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience with modern audience engagement tools and platforms (e.g., OneSignal, CleverTap, Mixpanel)
  • Knowledge of behavioral psychology principles as applied to digital product design
  • Background in implementing notification strategies that balance engagement with user experience
  • Understanding of content recommendation algorithms and personalization frameworks
  • Experience in media consumption pattern analysis and content strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience delivering consumer software products and services in a high-growth environment.


Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, or related tools.
  • Fluency in Arabic.
  • Familiarity with news media consumption patterns and audience development strategies.
  • Experience working with internationalized products serving diverse global audiences.

  • Totally remote, full time (40h/week)
  • Flexible work hours but with a mandatory overlap from 10am to 6pm GMT + 3 time hours.
