We are seeking a technically skilled and organized Platform Engineer with expertise in building Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms, establishing Security Operations Centers’ (SOC), and driving automation initiatives. This role will manage critical technical programs such as proof of concept (POC) labs, technical field events, and collaboration with the technical marketing team. As a key bridge between sales engineering, marketing, and operations, you will drive alignment and operational excellence to deliver innovative, automated solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

SOAR, SOC, and Automation Expertise:

  • Lead the development, deployment, and management of POC labs demonstrating SOAR platforms, SOC implementations, and automated workflows with the most popular and best-of-breed technology integrations.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to design and implement scalable SOAR solutions, SOC frameworks, and automation processes tailored to client needs.
  • Provide technical expertise on automation strategies for streamlining security incident response and operational workflows.

Lab and POC Management:

  • Oversee POC labs to support customer demonstrations, proof-of-concept projects, and testing environments with a focus on automation and orchestration.
  • Maintain state-of-the-art lab environments, ensuring readiness for technical demonstrations and high-performance testing of security and automation tools, using a chosen technology stack that emphasizes the value of the platform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve lab issues to maintain uptime and operational excellence, including the ability to “tear down” and “rebuild” environments on-demand.

Support for Sales Engineering:

  • Collaborate with sales engineers to implement and streamline technical workflows, particularly those leveraging automation tools and techniques.
  • Act as a technical resource for developing automation frameworks that enhance POC efficiency and success rates.
  • Provide training and documentation to ensure the sales engineering team has the resources needed for effective customer engagements and proof of concept initiatives.

Technical Engagement and Field Events:

  • Work with marketing to plan and execute technical field events, trade shows, and webinars showcasing automation, SOAR, and SOC innovations within the platform, proving value and the return on investment (ROI) for potential customers..
  • Represent the organization’s technical expertise during client engagements, focusing on automation-driven solutions and SOC modernization.
  • Assist in creating impactful events and marketing materials that align with industry trends and customer needs.

Operational Excellence:

  • Design metrics and KPIs to evaluate the efficiency of sales engineering operations, including lab utilization, technical demonstrations, and automation strategies that incorporates sales and marketing platform initiatives.
  • Lead the adoption of tools, platforms, and processes to enhance operational efficiency and automation within the sales engineering function.
  • Ensure that all activities comply with industry standards, security protocols, and best practices.

Automation Leadership:

  • Identify opportunities for automation within the sales engineering, POC, and operational workflows to increase scalability and reduce manual effort.
  • Spearhead initiatives to implement and optimize security automation tools and practices within customer environments.
  • Develop and maintain automated processes that enhance SOC workflows and security operations.

Technical Marketing Collaboration:

  • Partner with marketing to develop technical materials, including automated security workflows, case studies, white papers, and competitive analyses.
  • Align developed technical content with the latest automation trends and market demands.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales engineering, SOC architecture, SOAR deployment, or automation engineering especially with best of breed EDR, E-mail, Firewall security technologies.
  • Proven expertise in building and deploying SOAR platforms, SOC solutions, and automation workflows. Deep understanding of security technologies, incident response, and automation frameworks
  • Hands-on experience managing technical labs and POC environments with a focus on automation tools.
  • Strong knowledge of sales engineering processes, technical sales workflows, and customer engagement. Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
