The Role:

As a Channel Development Manager, you’ll be on the front line of expanding our Franchise sales channels through top of funnel sales motions. We are looking for a passionate and results-driven candidate with a builder mindset who is enthusiastic about identifying, targeting, and creating new business opportunities in the Franchise space. 

Our Channel Development Manager will possess demonstrated knowledge of the retirement industry and a proven ability to excel in balancing customer needs with company business objectives. In this new role, you’ll have an instrumental impact as Guideline strengthens our commitment to making retirement more accessible. 


This is a highly visible role that requires strong cross-functional collaboration, operational excellence, and the ability to drive both long-term strategy and tactical execution. As a young company, there’s a tremendous amount of upward mobility and the ability to have a direct impact on the business. 

 

What will you be doing? 
  • Build Relationships That Matter
    • Demonstrate flexibility in managing Franchise relationships and resolving issues, adapting your approach to different situations while focusing on results
    • Serve as the first point of contact for organizations to learn about Guideline by sharing the value we provide to their customers and their development team
  • Drive Success with Product Expertise
    • Promptly respond to inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns, assessing their needs, and determining fit
    • Assist with coordinating franchise-focused event materials, presentations, and follow-up communications; this role will be responsible for contacting attendees to book post-event sales meetings  
    • Support conference, seminar, and other industry-focused event planning, logistics, and related activities to maximize brand visibility and lead generation 
  • Expand and Elevate Franchise Opportunities
    • Develop a close partnership with Marketing team to create seamless collaboration between Demand Generation and Lead Response efforts
    • Research and understand potential customers and identify prospects using tools like Zoominfo, LinkedIn and online research
    • Work with the broader Channels Sales Team to understand our customers’ needs and  create long-term strategies to identify, surface and address potential buying obstacles
  • Track and Deliver Results
    • Deliver strong business results by leading revenue-generating initiatives and optimizing performance across key metrics

What Experience is Required? 

  • 3+ years of experience in a client-facing sales, marketing, or business development role in the B2B SaaS space 
  • 1+ years of experience in a quota-carrying role, preferably within the HR tech or employee benefits market
  • Proactive approach to growth, experimenting with a variety of tactics to discover how to generate leads and sell you have the analytical ability to identify which strategies warrant more investment and which we should avoid
  • Ability to effectively communicate Guideline’s value propositions to Franchise partners and understand their challenges and needs
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment in which you actively listen, provide meaningful feedback, and positively motivate yourself and others 
  • Customer-obsessed sales approach, demonstrating a deep commitment to understanding and addressing the unique needs of our platform 
  • Demonstrated communication and relationship-building skills to effectively engage potential partners, position Guideline’s value propositions, and create a positive first impression
  • Proven track record of maintaining and nurturing existing strategic partner/affiliate relationships with the goal of strengthening and growing sales channels uncovering new opportunities

Compensation:
At Guideline, we believe compensation should be fair and equitable. We take a data-driven approach to set our compensation bands; the successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and work location. We are always evaluating our pay zones to be as competitive as possible, so keep in mind these may be subject to change in the future.
The expected OTE for this role is $120,000.
In addition to salary, this position is eligible to participate in a sales incentive program and equity in the form of Incentive Stock Options (ISOs). Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
