POSITION PURPOSE

The Regional Forum and Learning Manager (RFLM) works with the chapters and the region in the delivery of forum and learning initiatives. In partnership with the chapter and regional officers, the Regional Forum and Learning Manager delivers peer-to-peer, and only in YPO, experiences with a focus on connection, engagement, and learning.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Global Support

  • Support the Forum & Learning Center of Excellence (COE) and the Leadership Development team members with the training and onboarding of officer elects.    

  • Collaborate continuously across the regional teams and the Forum & Learning COE.

Regional Support

  • Primary support to regional forum and learning officers.

  • Support Regional Officer with regional board meetings (RBMs), regional executive committee (REX) meetings, regional goals, budgets, and communications.

  • Support Regional Officer with regional forum and learning initiatives as defined by and aligned with the regional goals. 

  • Primary point of contact and support to Regional Forum Officer with focus on the chapters with regards to Forum Health, Goals, Officer calls, and Forum placement.

  • Primary point of contact and support for Regional Learning Officer with focus on chapters past learning calendars, best practices, relevant in‐house tools, resources, ECODE guidance in collaboration with the content design provided by the Forum & Learning COE.

  • Encourage collaboration with other regions on forum and learning initiatives in alignment with YPO Global parameters/guidelines.  

  • Provide flexibility in planning as needed to consider regional/cultural nuances while remaining in alignment with YPO Global parameters/guidelines.

Chapter Support

  • Primary support to chapter forum, learning, and assistant learning officers.

  • Advise and consult with Chapter Assistant Learning Officers (ALOs) on building learning calendars, utilizing past best practices, relevant in-house tools, resources, and ECODE guidance, in collaboration with the content design provided by Forum and Learning.

  • Develop and execute an annual peer-to-peer connection session for the ALOs.

  • Encourage collaboration between chapter officers on best practices to support and enhance the Chapter Forum and Learning experience.

  • Support Chapter Managers through ongoing Forum and Learning communications, requests, inquiries, and the sharing of best practices.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support chapter and regional forum, learning, and assistant learning officers with succession planning, governance, and training/onboarding of officer elects. 

  • Support people leader and Regional Specialist with identification of chapter and regional forum, learning, and assistant learning officer elects.

  • Communicate regularly with people leader on chapter and regional forum and learning activities and seek guidance from the Regional Chair as needed.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-cultural organization with international members, helping them achieve excellence in voluntary roles for YPO initiatives.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong diplomacy skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with all levels of associates, members and vendors. Adaptable, insightful, empathetic and reliable. Great sense of humor and humility.

  • Analytical thinker with ability influence and guide processes with appropriate approach and execution. Natural curiosity and desire to learn more; proficiency and interest in applying new technologies and tools.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proof reading, with a meticulous attention to detail. Adjusts communication style appropriately to the audience.

  • Professional presence, appearance, and stature to interact easily with YPO members, C-level executives and high-profile corporate leaders.

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

  • 5+ years of experience in global business, consulting, and/or development field.

  • Proven experience in supporting, stewarding and executing multiple stakeholder goals and deliverables.

  • Membership or association experience preferred, with an understanding of governance structures.

  • Experience in professional services and/or event planning environments with multiple stakeholder groups/committees and consensus management, preferred.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (required) and CRM software (preferred).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed to accommodate members and team members in multiple time zones.

  • Ability to work for extended hours at a computer screen.

  • Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally, without restrictions, approximately 20-25% per year.
