Physical Security Specialist III
General Description:
This role will be focused on HRL’s physical security systems. The candidate will champion changes to improve how the security systems are designed, integrated, managed and maintained. This includes interfacing with security vendors directly, working with the stakeholders, and managing these systems at a high level. Additionally, this role will have a focus on UL2050 compliance. The candidate will need to take ownership of system escalations and decision making at a high level as it pertains to the security system. The candidate will need to possess strong technical knowledge as well as project management skills to be successful in this role.
Essential Duties:
Support physical security systems throughout Multiple Campuses
Analyze physical security system performance and recommend improvements
Resolve complex system issues for physical security systems and networks
Programming and integrating CCTV , Access Control Systems, Public Announcement, Intercom, IDS and others as required
Using advanced knowledge of networking principals and system administration skills to troubleshoot systems
Train system users and other system support personnel
Analyze and modify preventive maintenance checklists for system changes
Troubleshoot system performance issues and implement corrective actions
Perform preventive maintenance actions including system back-ups, error log reviews, database size and integrity checks
Organize and prepare detailed documentation of system performance, including service request records and analysis
Provide onsite system support post deployment
Provide advanced level database support
Development
Conduct in depth research and evaluate the research of Technical Specialists in order to evaluate existing and future systems
Read and interpret engineering drawings
Ensure test lab equipment is maintained
Interface with engineering team to ensure design efficiency
Conduct research and development of entire systems and analyze all interoperability and constructability scenarios
Conduct research and development on new system manufacturers (i.e. access control, intrusion detection and closed circuit television systems).
Project Management
Communicate with stakeholders, manufacturers, vendors
Creation of SOP and SOW documentation
Read blue prints, schematics and statements of work (SOW)
Coordinate with field personnel and/or engineering team to discuss any potential installation issues
Answer support calls to help field personnel and system administrators with any installation issues encountered on the job site
Follow standard project management processes
Creation of project plans to include gant charts
High Security Systems
Design, Installation Support, Programming, and Maintenance of security systems to adhere to compliance requirements listed in UL2050, ICD705, and NISPOM
Ownership of all UL systems to include semi-annual UL inspections and documentation
Other duties as required
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio, project)
Strong interpersonal skills to successfully interact and collaborate with internal/external customers across organizational levels
Proficient at writing Statement of Works
Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively through written and verbal means
Required Education:
5-10 years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of electronic security systems with a high school diploma or GED
3-5 Years experiencing managing multiple physical security software/hardware products such as, Avigilon, Genetec, C-Cure 9000, Pro-Watch, RS2, Lenel
3-5 years experience with leading projects using industry known project management
Desire certifications in CCURE 9000, Avigilon Video, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Server 2008
Desire experience in configuration and management of UNIX and Windows operating systems
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and use computer equipment for extended periods of time during research and analysis tasks
Ability to lift and/or carry 30 pounds
Use ladders, scissor and articulating lifts
Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship required
Must have a current Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Current active Top Secret clearance/SCI with polygraph is desired.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position $76,530 - $93,320 + bonus + benefits.
