As the People Operations Generalist, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming workplace experience for new and existing employees. This position will be responsible for supporting processes relating to the entire employee lifecycle, from sourcing and recruiting to separation.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources and provides administrative support to the overall people function as needed. The role can be remote and is preferred to be located in California.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

People Operations (45%)

  • Manage the new hire process from offer to onboarding, ensuring all documents are completed in preparation for New Hire Orientations and support the implementation of new hire Orientation. 
  • Be the liaison between HR, IT, and Facilities to ensure all new hires are properly equipped and ready to start before their hire date.
  • Facilitate and guide Day-1 onboarding for all new employees. Ensure all documents are completed by HR and employees in order to stay compliant, including I-9 verification, E-verify, and required trainings.
  • Work with Payroll and Finance to ensure all employee payments are accurate and timely.
  • Work with IT to create onboarding and offboarding processes in order to stay compliant.
  • Be the liaison between HG employees and benefits providers (including brokers) for medical, dental, vision, 401K, etc, ensuring all requests are processed timely and accurately. 
  • Conduct exit interviews for employees who voluntarily resign from the company.
  • Maintain and act as an administrator of HR systems including HRIS, ATS, Confluence, Timetastic, and others. 
  • Own content on internal company sites to encourage employee-self-service and make important information easily accessible
  • Manage all employee events that increase company culture
  • Plan employee training as needed
  • Maintain employee information and update the system as needed
  • Carryout various employee requests
  • Support the team with special projects

Workplace Experience (15%)

  • Serve as an information hub for our staff daily by quickly responding to employee needs via phone, email, or our internal social network.
  • Manage office swag inventory and distribution.
  • Code purchases on the corporate credit card monthly
  • Process Wellness and Learning Benefits Reimbursements 


Sourcing and Recruiting (25%)

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, collaborating with different areas of the business to attract top talent 
  • Provide sourcing and networking strategies to all open positions 
  • Effectively open and post new requisitions to company and external job boards
  • Schedule interviews and ensure candidates move through the pipeline in a timely manner
  • Pre-screen all applicable candidates, recommending candidates based on detailed requirements of position and job competencies
  • Utilize, update, and maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Ensure positive and professional candidate experience to ensure top talent is attracted and retained.  

Compliance, Global Mobility & Immigration (15%)

  • Ensure all local, state, and federal compliance is met
  • Stay up to date on all employment laws ensuring we are meeting full compliance standards 
  • Manage immigration cases in partnership with external immigration resources
  • Be employees’ main point of contact for Immigration and Visa cases; work with outside legal counsel on all cases 


What You'll Need:

  • 2-4 years’ of human resources or people operations experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • You know when to use discretion; you can manage sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Team player that loves to bring new ideas to the table
  • You are exceptionally organized; juggling priorities comes naturally to you
    You’re adaptable, resourceful, resilient, and able to thrive in ambiguity - things change quickly in our fast-paced startup
  • You have a growth mindset and are passionate about employee experience and delivering excellent customer-service to our employees
  • You are proactive in identifying and taking on new projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, GSuite, HRIS, and Applicant Tracking Systems (Namely, Greenhouse)
  • Hands-on individual, interested in learning and getting involved in all aspects of the employee experience processes
  • You are fun to be around and have a clear, approachable, and friendly communication style and customer service attitude



HG Insights uses local, national, and industry-specific survey data to determine pay for positions. We strive to make competitive offers that allow new employees room for future growth. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate. All offers are determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal factors. The annual on-target earnings for the People Operations Generalist position are anticipated to be between 75K-85K DOE. The Talent Acquisition team will communicate all compensation components.
