Vast is looking for a Part Time Security Officer to support our Hawthorne, CA site. As a Security Officer, you will work directly with the Principle Security Officer to develop and implement security procedures for our test site.
We are currently hiring for the below schedules:
- Weekend Night Shift: Saturday and Sunday: 7pm-3:30pm
This is a non-exempt position based out of our Long Beach, CA facility.
Responsibilities:
- Assist guests with the ENVOY check in process
- Verify ID and POC of visitors
- Issue the appropriate visitor/temp employee badges
- Patrol all buildings and sites
- Observe and report all suspicious activity
- Report and document all incidents to Security Management
- Escort vendors on/off site if requested
- Assist other departments as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- CA BSIS Guard card
- 2+ years of professional experience in security operations in an industrial environment
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- High level of customer service skills
- Articulate and polite
- The ability to verbally de-escalate a situation
- BSIS or other security training
- The ability to work independently
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be available to work all required shift hours, overtime, and weekends, to support critical mission milestones
- Must be able to work in severe climate conditions: heat, wind, and cold
Salary Range: California
$18—$20 USD
