Summary/Objective:
The NSAW Super User is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the optimal functionality, efficiency, and utilization of the Oracle NADW platform to meet organizational data needs. This position acts as a critical bridge between IT and business units, translating technical capabilities into actionable insights and strategies.
As an expert on Oracle NADW, you will oversee data warehousing operations, facilitate data-driven decision-making, and support the organization in leveraging the full capabilities of Oracle’s advanced data management tools. You will play a hands-on role in implementing best practices, troubleshooting complex issues, and guiding stakeholders in using NADW to streamline business processes.
Additionally, the role involves developing and maintaining technical documentation, training end-users, and spearheading initiatives that enhance the scalability, reliability, and security of the data warehouse. A key aspect of this position is to align data architecture and strategies with organizational objectives while adhering to compliance and governance standards.
The successful candidate will have a deep technical understanding of Oracle NADW, combined with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business leaders. Essential Functions:

  1. Oracle NADW Administration and Management
    1. Act as the subject matter expert for Oracle North American Data Warehouse (NADW), ensuring optimal system configuration and usage.
    2. Manage daily operations of the NADW environment, including system health checks, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
    3. Implement enhancements, upgrades, and patches to maintain system stability and support evolving business needs.
    4. Collaborate with Oracle support and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve critical system issues.
  2. Data Architecture and Modeling
    1. Design and develop robust data models, schemas, and ETL pipelines to support organizational reporting and analytics.
    2. Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for high performance and scalability.
    3. Work with stakeholders to design custom data solutions tailored to their specific requirements.
    4. Oversee data integration efforts, ensuring smooth and secure flow of data from source systems to the warehouse.
  3. Data Analytics and Insight Generation
    1. Partner with business teams to translate raw data into actionable insights that drive decision-making.
    2. Develop and maintain advanced analytics and reporting dashboards using Oracle NADW and related tools (e.g., Oracle Analytics Cloud).
    3. Perform ad-hoc analyses to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement.
    4. Maintain accuracy and consistency across datasets to ensure reliable insights.
  4. Training, Support, and User Engagement
    1. Serve as the primary point of contact for end-users requiring assistance with Oracle NADW.
    2. Develop and deliver training sessions, user guides, and best practices to ensure users can effectively leverage the system.
    3. Address user concerns and provide real-time troubleshooting for technical or operational issues.
    4. Foster collaboration across teams by acting as a liaison between technical staff and business stakeholders.
  5. Compliance, Governance, and Security
    1. Establish and enforce data governance policies to maintain data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance.
    2. Implement security measures to protect sensitive data, including role-based access controls and encryption.
    3. Conduct regular audits of the data warehouse to ensure adherence to corporate and legal standards.
    4. Stay up to date on industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ensure the organization’s data practices align with these guidelines.
  6. Project Leadership and Strategic Initiatives
    1. Lead or contribute to large-scale projects such as system migrations, implementations, and integrations with other platforms.
    2. Identify opportunities for innovation within the data warehouse, proposing solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.
    3. Drive cross-departmental collaboration to ensure that data initiatives align with business goals.
    4. Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications effectively.
  7. Performance Optimization and Monitoring
    1. Continuously monitor the performance of Oracle NADW, ensuring optimal response times and minimal downtime.
    2. Proactively identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and potential risks, implementing fixes as needed.
    3. Develop and utilize performance metrics to measure the success of data warehouse initiatives.
    4. Recommend and execute strategies for improving system efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  8. 8. Collaboration and Communication
    1. Act as a key partner for cross-functional teams including IT, data analytics, finance, and operations.
    2. Facilitate seamless communication between technical teams and business users to ensure alignment of data strategies.
    3. Share insights and updates on data warehouse projects with senior management and key stakeholders.
    4. Represent the organization in discussions with external vendors or consultants on data warehousing topics.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data warehousing, with specific expertise in Oracle NADW.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and data modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), Oracle BI, and ETL tools.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and security best practices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of common industry-standard business practices in accounting, manufacturing, and warehouse management.
  • Demonstrates a high-level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong focus of customer service and follow through.
  • Proficient with saved searches, formulas, reporting, dashboard creation, custom form creation, and workflow creation.
