About the Role

The Manager II, Sales Training & Development will be responsible for critical training initiatives focused on developing Tarsus’ internal talent and fostering our unique company culture.  Training will emphasize professional development, career advancement, individual excellence & performance.  This role will also be focused on working with the leadership team to identify critical training and development gaps.  Once identified, the training manager will create and implement training programs to address these needs for the launch and thereafter. 

Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:

  • Sales Onboarding & Ongoing Training– Takes lead in creating and delivering engaging and impactful onboarding training for all sales to ensure expert level knowledge and skills. The Mgr II, Sales Training & Development defines the cadence of all sales onboarding events, creates home study content, manages onboarding calendar with HR, and facilitates and coordinates informational meetings cross-functionally. They have daily/weekly touchpoints with all new hires to ensure a successful onboarding and training experience. The corporate training manager coordinates, facilitates, and manages all new hire training, live training and advanced training courses to maintain frequent and continuous learning.
  • Training Operations & Execution – Assists in managing the logistics of all training initiatives and day-to-day operations within the training department. Oversees training materials, learning platforms, and communications to ensure consistency and alignment.
  • Sales Meetings –Mgr II, Sales Training & Development assists in coordinating, planning, facilitating, and executing all Manager’s Meetings, Regional Sales Meetings, and National Sales Meetings which empower culture, knowledge, and skill building
  • Core Competencies & Fundamental Skills Training – Works with sales leadership and other cross-functional business partners to develop training programs and workshops that address the skills and behaviors of each function (marketing, medical, market access and others)
  • Field Liaison –Mgr II, Sales Training & Development conducts field rides to learn and understand field needs relative to training, competition, skill & knowledge gaps. Directed by sales leadership, they also offer an additional voice when coaching team members to drive individual growth
  • Culture – Fosters our culture of commitment, empowerment and teamwork which includes extreme ownership, high accountability, continuous improvement & relentless pursuit of excellence through trust, coaching, development, recognition, & rewards
  • Leadership Development – Demonstrating a commitment to our Tarsus sales leaders, and in the spirit of continuous growth and improvement, the Mgr II, Sales Training & Development collaborates with Senior Director of Training and HR to create best in class sales leadership development programs that align with current and future skillsets related to the sales role
  • Systems – Helps create, manage, monitor, and train on all learning management systems including reporting, dashboards, and analytics. Leads sales training for all MLR required materials.
  • Works closely with vendors and approval committees to help manage approval process of training materials, presentations, and modules

Factors for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or related field
  • 8+ years relevant experience required, healthcare/pharma, ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in sales training is required
  • Strong presentation skills, facilitation skills, and communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen
  • Ability to develop, implement and execute key training strategies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload
  • Ability to manage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • High technical and clinical knowledge as it relates to product and industry
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Budget management

  • Some travel may be required – up to 20-30%

At Tarsus, we understand the importance of attracting and retaining top talent. The expected base pay range for this position is $116,200 - $162,800 plus bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
