About You  

You are a creative, hands-on designer with a passion for both design excellence and team development. Your communication is clear, strategic, and you have a strong understanding of how design translates into business goals.  

About The Role 

As the Lead Designer for the graphic design team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the creative direction of goop's visual identity. You will oversee the design team’s daily operations, ensuring that all projects align with goop’s brand standards, and inspire the team to push creative boundaries. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, as well as other departments, to create compelling visual content across multiple verticals and channels. This is a leadership role where you’ll manage design processes, set project priorities, and mentor other designers. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and oversee the graphic design team to produce high-quality, on-brand creative for marketing and product initiatives. 
  • Manage the day-to-day design workflow, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and editorial, to execute brand campaigns and initiatives. 
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and creative team culture that encourages innovation. 
  • Guide and mentor designers, providing constructive feedback and professional development. 
  • Stay ahead of design trends and industry developments to continually elevate goop’s visual identity. 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • 7+ years of experience in graphic design, with experience in a leadership role, managing and inspiring a team. 
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design skills across multiple platforms (digital, print, and branding). 
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and proficiency in web design tools and software. 
  • A keen understanding of goop’s aesthetic and the ability to adapt and innovate within the brand’s voice. 
  • Experience in managing multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining design quality. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present ideas and collaborate with diverse teams. 

FAQ 

  • Compensation: $100,000 - $135,000 + Equity. This is a full-time, exempt role. Please note that this range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for the Los Angeles, CA based position. Goop, in good faith, reasonably expects to pay the position within this salary range. Goop provides the salary range in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, training, knowledge and skills, and if the location of the job changes.
