SKILLS
**Program begins June 9, 2025 and will conclude August 15, 2025**
GEHA’s Data & Analytics division is the center point for Data Management and Analytics. The team works to integrate and manage data from various systems to allow both individuals and applications to have the data and insights needed to make data driven decisions. The team is also responsible for integration with external vendors to ensure quality and timely data extraction.
The Intern Data Analyst will work with business data analysts, data scientists, analytics engineers, managers, other data analytics teams, and business stakeholders to assist in projects centered around reporting and supporting data-driven decision making. The work will involve the intern rotating through each of the Analytics teams, allowing the intern insight into the key roles each group plays in the analytics process. This will involve gathering business requirements, creating and cleaning datasets, performing statistical analysis, and creating data visualizations to help support data driven decision making at GEHA. Through these projects, the internship will develop analytical skills, enhance visualization techniques, improve healthcare data literacy, and gain industry exposure through real-world projects designed to improve GEHA’s analytic maturity.
Key Duties
• Perform assigned data modeling and analyses under direct supervision
• Use data engineering tools to provide meaningful results
• Prepare, as directed, accurate and insightful communication of findings using verbal and graphic techniques
• Properly apply benchmark, review, and controls to ensure quality and reliability of results
• Provide an overview of the respective area and allow learning in the healthcare industry.
• Work with reports, queries and extracts using structured query languages (like SQL), spreadsheets (Excel), presentation applications (Word, Power Point) and other business intelligence (BI) tools (PowerBI, as applicable
• Gain understanding of the various analytic platforms in support of the Data & Analytics team
Requirements
• 3.0 overall GPA
• Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good analytical skills
• Detail oriented
• Demonstrated initiative both independently and within a team
• Proficient in Excel, Outlook and Word

• Support of HEDIS gap closures to improve member outcomes
Work-at-home requirements
- Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.
- A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.
- Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms
- Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
- A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. GEHA considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
The annual base salary range for this position is $43,160 - $60,840 USD.
