Hi! 👋 I’m Dan, CEO of TLDR.

If you’re reading this, you’re someone who understands how to make go-to-market (GTM) functions operate seamlessly. I’m looking for a GTM Strategy & Operations Lead to take ownership of our revenue processes, integrate our sales and marketing tools, and drive strategic initiatives that accelerate our growth. You’ll be working directly with me, our VP of Sales, and our Head of Demand Generation to ensure our GTM engine runs efficiently and scales effectively.

Who We Are

TLDR is a collective of technical newsletters on startups, software engineering, AI, cybersecurity, marketing, product management, and more, with over 5 million subscribers.

Our mission is to build the paper of record for the tech industry—the trusted source that people in tech rely on to inform them about important trends and developments.

About the Role

  • Own the strategy and execution of our GTM operations, ensuring our tools and processes drive revenue efficiently.

  • Partner closely with sales, marketing, and leadership to identify and remove friction in our revenue workflows.

  • Lead automation and integration projects across the entire GTM tech ecosystem to streamline operations. We're a startup. You'll work with the best tools and tell us what to use.

  • Develop insights and reporting that provide visibility into pipeline, conversion rates, and revenue performance.

  • Manage and coordinate external contractors for specialized projects (e.g., HubSpot automation, data modeling, workflow optimization).

  • Act as the quarterback for GTM operations, ensuring initiatives are executed end-to-end and driving impact across the org.

About You

  • 3+ years of experience in GTM, revenue operations, or strategy operations within a startup environment (Series B or earlier preferred). It's okay if you have more than 3 years experience. We want to meet you. We just write our JDs to be inclusive of any exceptional, earlier career folks.

  • Strong strategic thinking skills—you see the big picture and can identify high-leverage opportunities.

  • Hands-on experience with GTM tech stacks (HubSpot, data tools, automation platforms).

  • A bias for action—you don’t just make recommendations, you ensure implementation happens.

  • Experience managing contractors or cross-functional teams to execute projects.

  • A hard worker and smart generalist—bonus points if you’ve been a founder or worked on a founding team.

Why You'll Love It

  • High-impact role reporting to the CEO and shaping the future of TLDR’s GTM strategy.

  • Work directly with sales, marketing, and leadership to drive meaningful revenue outcomes.

  • Competitive compensation package. We hire at multiple levels within the org.

  • 100% remote company with unlimited PTO, annual team offsite. Yes it's unlimited.

  • Autonomy and agency to contribute to the growth of one of the largest newsletters in the world.

  • Contemporary tech stack and tools. Tell us what you want to work with.

  • Hardwear and software, L&D stipend—we value continuous improvement.

  • 100% paid medical, dental, vision insurances, HSA,FSA

  • 401(k)

  • Paid parental leave

  • Great TLDR swag and meetups with local team members

What We Value

  • Urgency and Bias to Action

  • Iterative improvement

  • Clear communication

  • Integrity

  • Resourcefulness

📥 If this sounds like you, I’d love to talk about how you can make a big impact at TLDR. Let’s build something great together!

You're not a good fit for this role if you:

  • Have only worked in large corporate environments—this role requires startup experience.

  • Prefer narrowly defined roles with highly specialized responsibilities—we need a generalist who can quarterback multiple GTM initiatives with a penchant for driving revenue.

  • Need a lot of hand-holding or rigid structure—this role requires autonomy and proactivity.

Please let us know if you need any accommodation during any part of the interview process.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
