What is the Financial Services Sales Training Specialist responsible for?

The Sales Training Specialist plays a vital role in empowering our sales team to reach their full potential. You will create, maintain, and deliver industry-leading training for newly licensed financial representatives, focusing on value-added content that equips them to become competent and successful professionals. Training topics will include Client-Centric Selling Skills, Time Management, Building Their Brand, Base Level Investment Training, and more. In this role, you will guide individuals on effectively presenting and selling a diverse range of mutual fund assets.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Financial Services Sales Training Specialist?

As a Sales Training Specialist, you will work closely with a dedicated client to develop and implement tailored training programs that drive performance and success. Specifically, you will lead Investment Training Programs to assist newly securities-licensed representatives in mastering the basics of financial solutions, as well as securities training presentations that cover the fundamentals of the securities business.

The role is responsible for financial services training so base level experience within the field is required.

The ongoing responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assist in the ongoing development and evolution of sales training programs tailored for a diverse audience within the organization.

  • Facilitate engaging training sessions and workshops to enhance product knowledge, selling skills, and overall effectiveness, ensuring that content resonates with participants from various backgrounds.

  • Lead Investment Training Programs aimed at helping newly securities-licensed representatives understand the fundamentals of financial solutions and develop the skills necessary to succeed in the industry.

  • Deliver securities training presentations, showing licensed representatives the fundamentals of the securities business, including key concepts, products, and regulatory aspects.

  • Work closely with product specialists and subject matter experts to design and deliver effective training materials, including presentations, job aids, and e-learning modules that reflect the needs of a diverse workforce.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of training resources, including manuals, videos, and other instructional materials that are accessible and relevant to all representatives.

  • Deliver a series of impactful presentations designed to increase the penetration of securities business among licensed securities professionals.

  • Coordinate leads to the sales team as appropriate, promoting collaboration and success.

  • Act as a liaison with the Home Office team to ensure a cohesive message and inclusive training agenda.

  • Engage in 30-50% travel dedicated to delivering training sessions across various locations, embracing the opportunity to connect with diverse teams.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in asset management sales or a related area, with a proven track record in sales training and development.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

  • Proficient in designing and delivering impactful training programs and materials that enhance sales performance while considering cultural nuances.

  • Strong familiarity with asset management products, services, and current industry trends.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, fostering a positive and inclusive training culture.

  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Willingness to travel as needed to deliver training programs and provide support to sales teams.

  • Series 7 and 63 FINRA Licenses are required.

  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus, enabling effective communication with a broader audience.

Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $85,000 - $100,000.
