POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Chief Diversity Officer “CDO”, the Executive Director, Office of Diversity & Inclusion will help to lead and drive the studio’s commitment to creating an inclusive, diverse, and equitable work environment across all facets of the organization, from corporate and creative pipeline development to employer branding and employee engagement. This individual will be responsible for implementing D&I strategies, helping to build organizational culture, and ensuring that DEI principles are deeply embedded in the studio’s operational, creative, and business practices. Additionally, this person will be a people leader on a performance driven team with a global footprint. The Executive Director will work closely with the business, employees, and external partners to foster a culture that reflects the diversity of global audiences and champions inclusion in all aspects of entertainment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Strategy Development:

  • Manage US based D&I team while effectively partnering with global D&I team members
  • Assist with the development and execution of the studio’s D&I strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Assist CDO in advising business leaders on D&I related issues, providing insights and guidance on best practices and trends in the industry.
  • Champion D&I initiatives to ensure they are embedded into all aspects of the business, from production to talent development to marketing and distribution.
  • Execute on short- and long-term D&I goals, ensuring measurable outcomes and continuous improvement.

Cultural Transformation:

  • Support the cultivation of an inclusive work environment that reflects diverse perspectives and fosters mutual respect, collaboration, and belonging.
  • Provide hands on leadership in implementing training programs, workshops, and resources that promote inclusive behaviors, cultural competency, and awareness.
  • Oversee the leadership of employee business resource groups (EBRGs) and other affinity programs to support underrepresented groups and promote a sense of belonging within the studio.
  • Partner to ensure that DEI principles are embedded in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and performance management practices.

Content Creation & Representation:

  • Oversee effective D&I creative pipeline programs that foster diverse and authentic representation in storytelling, talent casting, and the development of content.
  • Assist with advising on the inclusive representation of various communities in projects

Community Engagement & External Partnerships:

  • In partnership with the Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability and Supplier Diversity Teams, assist in building and maintaining relationships with diverse communities, industry organizations, and advocacy groups to ensure the studio’s D&I initiatives are aligned with broader social and cultural goals.
  • Occasionally, represent the studio at industry events, conferences, and media platforms.

Data & Reporting:

  • Report progress on D&I goals and outcomes across all areas of the studio
  • Provide regular updates to on D&I efforts, progress, and challenges.
  • Conduct assessments to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to leadership for addressing D&I gaps using data to inform decisions and drive accountability

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Human Resources, Social Justice, or Cultural Studies) preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in D&I-related roles
  • 5+ years’ experience as a people manager, preferably within the entertainment or media industry.
  • Proven track record of effective people management and development of diverse teams
  • Demonstrated experience implementing D&I strategies that help to drive cultural transformation and organizational change.
  • Strong knowledge of D&I best practices, trends, and issues within the entertainment, media, or creative industries.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including underrepresented groups in the workplace and in creative content.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Exceptional management, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire others at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • High emotional intelligence with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment.
  • Experience using data and analytics to measure D&I impact and outcomes and provide meaningful recommendations.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $191,000 to $239,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
