Essential Duties:
Help an existing integrated engineering team build new instrumentation hardware.
Assembly of mechanical and electrical subsystems and integrate them into a larger system.
Read mechanical and electrical assembly drawings and have an understanding of configuration management.
Generate and refine documentation such as process instructions, block diagrams, and bill of materials.
Troubleshoot process/hardware failure modes and perform root cause analysis.
Support and help organize laboratory inventory/procurement.
Support maintenance of lab instrumentation.
Required Skills:
Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment involving assembly, integration, test, and troubleshooting
Experience following formal and informal assembly and integration processes
Use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and ability to create and communicate using charts, is necessary.
Experience with traditional as well as advanced packaging techniques (e.g. ceramic and laminate chip-level packages, printed circuit boards, SoC, SiP, MCM, HD interposers, etc.), is highly desired
Experience with hand soldering and electronic assembly equipment
Understanding and application of basic electrical and mechanical engineering concepts
Knowledge of electronic and mechanical components, specifications, and packaging
Must be able to read, generate, and understand engineering drawings, bills of material, schematic diagrams, assembly/process instructions, and terminology.
Understanding of configuration management and inventory control is desired
Excellent problem solving skills with good mechanical aptitude and strong organizational skills
Ability to work well in a creative team environment, possess excellent communication skills, and have willingness to train / mentor others
Ability to work effectively with others and individually
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform tasks safely in a lab environment and be able to climb and work on ladders and/or scaffolding
Ability to lift and move small to moderate sized test equipment
Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $99,705 - $124,683 + bonus + benefits.
