At FuturHealth, we're on a mission to create a product where every individual feels inspired and empowered to confidently take charge of their wellbeing. We believe in and are dedicated to offering personalized and holistic approaches to combat health concerns.

Operating at the intersection of health and technology, we provide a comprehensive range of services, including telemedicine, personalized nutrition plans, medication delivery, and insurance solutions. We believe that wellbeing is deeply personal, and the path to becoming the best version of yourself is paved with progress, not perfection. Our central focus is on utilizing scientifically-proven prescriptions and telehealth initiatives to tackle obesity head-on.

Role Overview:

We’re seeking a Director of Product Design to join our mission-driven team reimagining the weight loss experience. In this strategic leadership role, you will drive the vision and execution of world-class digital experiences that empower consumers to access care, manage prescriptions, and navigate their health journeys with confidence and clarity.

Reporting to the EVP of Growth Product Management & Design, you will define and drive FuturHealth's design vision, strategy, and execution. Your work will focus on crafting seamless, intuitive, and inclusive experiences for our customers. As this is a hybrid role, you will also lead by example, mentoring a team of talented designers and copywriters while shaping product strategy and leading cross-functional initiatives. You’ll bring systems thinking, creativity, and operational rigor to deliver high-impact, user-centered solutions in a complex, regulated healthcare environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the design strategy and day-to-day execution for core consumer-facing digital products across web and mobile platforms, ensuring usability, accessibility, and emotional resonance.
  • Lead and grow a high-performing team of designers and content strategists — providing mentorship, feedback, and career development support.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, product, engineering, research, marketing, to align on vision, roadmap, and business impact.
  • Drive end-to-end product design — from discovery and concept through high-fidelity UI, prototyping, testing, and final delivery.
  • Champion and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency across experiences, including integrations with external partners.
  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative insights (e.g., research, analytics, VOC) to inform design decisions and continuously improve user experience.
  • Act as a strategic design voice across the organization, influencing senior stakeholders and advocating for the customer at every touchpoint.
  • Balance vision with velocity, leading both blue-sky ideation and iterative improvement work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in product design, with at least 3–5 years in a management role leading cross-functional design teams.
  • A portfolio that showcases end-to-end product thinking, elegant solutions to complex problems, and mastery of visual and interaction design.
  • Expertise in modern design tools (e.g., Figma) and human-centered design practices, including usability testing, prototyping, and accessibility standards.
  • Proven ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and influence outcomes without relying on formal authority.
  • Strong communication skills, including experience presenting to executives, aligning stakeholders, and telling compelling stories with data and design.
  • Experience in regulated or high-stakes industries (healthcare, finance, etc.) with a deep understanding of operational constraints and compliance.

  • A systems thinker who can connect the dots across product surfaces and experiences, ensuring cohesion and impact across the journey.

  • Hands-on design of journey-maps, screen designs for web and native mobile-apps, calls-to-action and draft directional copy to set direction for the team and to contribute to the overall design-team capacity.

The pay range for this role is $209,000 - $247,500 total compensation package. We offer a competitive salary package and may include variable compensation such as bonus and equity. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
