Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Operations Strategy, The Director of Marketing and Operations Strategy will collaborate closely with senior leaders across marketing and operations to scope and deliver key priority projects aligned with organizational goals and KPIs.

The remit of the role is broad and is likely to include initiatives pertaining, but not limited, to:

  • Hypothesis Generation:Conduct in-depth exploratory analyses and benchmarking to identify growth opportunities. This may include process audits, evaluations of tools and technologies, assessing go-to-market (GTM) strategies, conducting financial analysis, and performing external benchmarking
  • Stakeholder alignment: Build strong partnerships with stakeholders within marketing and operations, as well as with other functions; drive alignment on key priorities across this diverse stakeholder set.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Drive collaboration with cross-functional partners across the organization to deliver on projects.
  • Project design and scope: Collaborate with the COO and the COO leadership team to align priorities and scope strategy projects. These initiatives should directly contribute to achieving COO goals.
  • Project planning and execution: Define, structure, and execute operational initiatives by developing work plans, gathering, and synthesizing relevant data, leading analyses, and developing actionable recommendations.
  • Storytelling: synthesize key insights, recommendations and action items in a clear, concise and coherent way; create executive-level materials and presentations to drive buy-in and alignment.
  • Measuring success: Lead a team of managers and analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Scaling best practices: Identify and scale best practices and innovations, including forming a deep understanding of Academic Partnership products, processes, systems/tools, personnel, and strategic direction
  • Team leadership: Lead a team of managers and analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.

What You’ll Need For Success

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field is required; Preferred: MBA or master’s degree with STEM designation
  • Professional experience:
  • Required: 6+ years of professional experience, with 2+ years of experience at a top-tier management consulting firm, investment bank, or corporate strategy organization.
  • Preferred: Experience in the higher education or edtech sector
  • Skills:
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously, building appropriate processes and tools, and successfully delivering results
  • Strong conceptual problem-solving skills – ability to break down complex problems in a structured manner, and go beyond first-level insights to find the root cause
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to extract, prepare and analyze large datasets to identify patterns and insights
  • Strong project management and implementation skills – ability to create detailed workplans, manage cross-functional partners, drive complex projects from conception to implementation
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, ability to create executive-ready presentations
  • Leadership and people management/ talent development skills
  • Must work well in a matrix environment across multiple groups and levels, experience in building cross-functional and senior relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive alignment across all levels of the company
