About the Role

We're on a mission at Dow Jones to provide the world's most trusted journalism, data and analysis to help people make decisions. As part of the Global Internal Communications Team, you'll have a unique opportunity to bring people onboard Dow Jones's mission, strategy and values, and reimagine the way we tell stories to our people. We're looking for someone who's a trusted communications advisor, a consummate storyteller, loves cooking up creative campaigns and who constantly challenges the status quo.

You Will:

  • Report to the VP of Internal Communications and be based in our New York City office
  • Oversee our global communication channels (intranet, Slack, email vendor, digital office signs, etc.) to ensure effective and efficient distribution of informative and engaging content globally
  • Be a storytelling pro and proactively source and write stories for internal channels, including some that occasionally will be published externally
  • Develop trusted relationships with leaders and key stakeholders, and proactively identify opportunities, and develop and execute internal communication strategies, including for complex campaigns that support the company's goals, enhance our culture and/or improve employee engagement
  • Lead our data dashboard and derive insights from the data that help shape our content and channel strategies
  • Support company events such as our Global All-Hands and proactively identify ways to improve participation and engagement
  • Provide direction for design/graphics needed to accompany content
  • Consistently stay abreast of the latest employee communications/engagement technologies and advise how we can leverage them at Dow Jones
  • Manage 1-2 team members

You Have:

  • 12-15 years internal communications or relevant experience
  • Aptitude for creative storytelling and connection to business and culture priorities
  • Experience developing and executing impactful communications campaigns
  • Strong writer with a nose for news; reporter/journalism background a plus
  • Ability to distill complex content and concepts into something simple and sticky – be it in the form of messages and/or graphics
  • A data-led approach to communications, and have experience managing and analyzing data dashboards
  • A professional, collaborative and team-oriented approach to your work
  • Excellent project management skills and solution oriented
  • People manager experience is a plus
  • PR agency experience is a plus
  • Global work experience / background is a plus

Pay Range: 160,000 - 200,000
