OVERVIEW

The Director of DevOps & Infrastructure will oversee our infrastructure strategies' design, implementation, and management. This role focuses heavily on infrastructure, strongly emphasizing Azure, AWS, infrastructure as code (IaC), and code reviews. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in software development, experience running high-volume websites, and a deep understanding of the appropriate blend of infrastructure with security.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure solutions using Azure and AWS.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, tools, and processes. Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline
  • Manage stakeholders and external interfaces
  • Implement and manage infrastructure as code practices to automate and streamline infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices performance optimization.
  • Work closely with software development teams to integrate infrastructure and security best practices into the development lifecycle.
  • Implement monitoring tools and practices to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security of infrastructure.
  • Lead incident response efforts to quickly and effectively address infrastructure and security incidents. 
  • Manage relationships with infrastructure and cybersecurity vendors to ensure the best solutions and services are utilized.
  • Mentor and lead a team of infrastructure  professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, technologies, and threats to ensure that the organization's security measures remain effective.

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
  • At least 7-10 years of experience with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial position.
  • Ability to analyze complex network issues for both wired and wireless systems.
  • Strong background in cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Certifications:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional: Demonstrates advanced skills in designing distributed systems on AWS.
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert: Validates expertise in designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft Azure.
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA): Proves proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters, which is crucial for modern infrastructure management.
    • HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate: Focuses on infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.

The base salary range for this position is $200,000-$300,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
