We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Digital Marketing Intern to join our dynamic marketing team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to use best-in-class marketing tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, and WordPress, as well as gain hands-on experience across the digital marketing universe. As part of our internal marketing team, you'll contribute directly to our in-house initiatives, including our rebranding efforts, rather than working on client-side projects.

We have a trusting and flexible work culture, but it comes with responsibility, so you’ll need to be the type of worker who is disciplined enough to get things done without someone watching over your shoulder. We are looking for someone to bring great ideas to the table and be unafraid to ask questions.

You Will Be Involved With:

  • Email Marketing Support: Support email marketing efforts by assisting in crafting, editing, and updating email content across several email campaigns that align with Go Fish’s tone and brand guidelines.
  • Rebrand Migration Assistance: Help with the migration of digital assets during rebranding efforts, including updating email templates and workflows within HubSpot.
  • Social Media Strategy: Develop and implement a social media strategy, managing content calendars, analyzing engagement data, and adjusting tactics to increase lead generation.
  • Copywriting: Assist in the creation of compelling copy across various formats, including blogs, case studies, and promotional materials.
  • Google Analytics Reporting: Manage basic weekly reports on website traffic and user behavior using Google Analytics, helping the team stay informed on key metrics.
  • Webinar Coordination: Support the coordination of webinars from setup to follow-up. Assist with webinar logistics, including email communications, workflow automations, and reporting using Zoom, HubSpot, and Salesforce.
  • Digital Asset Management: Organize and update digital and image files within HubSpot’s file library to ensure all marketing materials are current and reflect our new branding.
  • Learning and Development: Gain proficiency in HubSpot and Salesforce, understanding how these platforms integrate with our overall marketing strategy.

Requirements:

  • Current enrollment or recent graduation from a four-year university program with a major in marketing.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Strong skills in creating visually appealing and effective HubSpot emails.
  • Basic understanding of marketing analytics and A/B testing.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms, automations, and systems integrations (such as HubSpot, Marketo, and Salesforce).
  • Experience with email automation workflows and CRM tools.
  • HubSpot Certification or Google Analytics

Hours and Location

This internship begins in May 2025. Applicants must be available for at least 12 weeks during the summer semester and should expect to work approximately 20 hours per week. Interns will be paid hourly at a competitive rate based on experience. Interns local to the Raleigh-Durham location are preferred.

Guidelines for Your Application
What We Need: Alongside your resume, craft a one-page cover letter that gives us some perspective into your unique journey and passion for this role.
Handling Attachments: Some platforms can be tricky. If limited to one file, combine your resume, cover letter, and work sample.

The Weight of the Cover Letter: It’s more than just a formality – it’s our first introduction to you. Make it count. Without it, your application won't be reviewed.
Note on ‘Quick Apply’: This feature can sometimes miss essential details. Ensure all our requirements are met — incomplete applications won't progress.
We could be a good fit if you've made it all the way down to here!
Adherence to these guidelines is paramount.
Missing out will cost you a spot in the process. And then, we all miss out. And that bums us out. Don't bum us out. We value attention to detail, and this is your chance to show that off.
We appreciate the effort you put into your application and look forward to getting to know you better!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
