Position Summary
SHEIN Global Security and Risk Management (GSRM) is a global security organization that oversees security infrastructure, risk management, data privacy, business fraud, governance, and regulatory compliance across SHEIN's global footprint. It is composed of a team of security professionals, innovators and thought leaders that have had decades of global security experience, led large scale transformations, and served in Fortune 500 executive roles.
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Cybersecurity Engineering Intern for our Los Angeles, CA-based office, who will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of cybersecurity. You will engage in active initiatives that strengthen network security, improve identity access management (IAM)/Identity Provider (IDP) security deployments, and utilize programming skills to create innovative cybersecurity solutions for SHEIN.com. This internship is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience in cybersecurity, develop your technical skills, and make an impactful contribution to our team.
Job Responsibilities
- Security Automation: Develop a set of scripts or tools using a programming language of your choice to automate security tasks, such as but not limited to threat assessment, security logging, and integrating different security data feeds. This project should demonstrate your ability to use programming skills to improve security efficiency, effectiveness, and integrating different systems.
- Network Security: Participate in network security solution, including network security tools administration, WAF/CDN configuration, and network infrastructure upgrades. This project should include a plan for automating, enhancing, while maintaining the security of the network. Detailed network diagrams, security policies, and thorough documentation.
- IAM/IDP Security Deployment: Assist in the design and deployment of an Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Identity Provider (IDP) solution. This project will include user account provisioning and de-provisioning, role-based access control, single sign-on (SSO) integration, and multi-factor authentication.
- Assist engineering in network security initiatives while learning network concepts and principles
- Look for opportunities to automate and/or enhance processes via tools or scripting
- Assist in the assessment and implementation of cybersecurity solutions to protect the organization's networks and systems across multiple disciplines such as cloud, enterprise security, and IAM/IDP
- Contribute to the development, improvement, and documentation of security policies, procedures, and best practices
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred
- Proficiency with one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, Bash, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with basic security principles (threats, vulnerabilities, controls).
- Familiarity with network security technologies and principles (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS) a plus.
- Basic knowledge of IAM and IDP solutions and roles in enterprise security a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Mandarin a big plus
