Your Role at MediaLab

Genius is looking for a Creator Program Manager to build and run our Creator Program, a year-long program designed to identify, develop, and partner with the next generation of music-driven creators and emerging artists. This is a hands-on role at the center of culture, content, and partnerships. You will source and manage creators (independent Talent), oversee collaborations from start to finish, and work closely with editorial, social, and content teams to both communicate creative and executional notes to Creators and help bring creator-led ideas to life. You will also help shape how Genius defines what’s next for creators as the influencer landscape evolves.
This role is ideal for someone who understands music culture, has strong creator instincts, understands basic production workflows, has platform management experience, and can balance creative thinking with operational execution.
Hours: ~20 hours per week, with weekly variation as needed.
Location: Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY (only).

What You’ll Do
  • Help shape and evolve the Creator Program at Genius, including structure, cadence, and overall strategy in partnership with internal stakeholders
  • Own day-to-day management of the Creator Program, including onboarding, scheduling, communications, invoicing, and coordination with legal and finance
  • Manage timelines, creative briefs, deliverables, and approvals across creators and internal teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with creators, providing guidance, feedback, and ongoing support
  • Define and track program KPIs, and develop monthly reports to measure performance, progress, and key milestones
  • Source, recruit, and onboard creators aligned with Genius’s voice, with a focus on music, culture, and storytelling
  • Collaborate with content, social, and editorial teams to develop and execute creator-led content aligned with brand standards
  • Partner with sales and branded content teams to support campaigns, develop scopes of work, and leverage creator content for revenue opportunities

What We’re Searching For
  • 5+ years of experience in creator partnerships, influencer marketing, talent programs, or cultural content
  • Deep understanding of music culture, social platforms, and the evolving creator economy
  • Proven experience managing creators end-to-end, from sourcing through execution
  • Established relationships with creators, managers, and agencies, with the ability to tap into existing networks
  • Strong project management skills and ability to juggle multiple workstreams
  • Clear communicator with strong relationship-building instincts
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with editorial, social, and revenue teams
  • Experience supporting branded content or advertiser-facing programs is a plus

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
