The Role

Join us as the first Commercial Finance Analyst in the United States for Megaport. You will serve as the primary commercial finance representative in North America, acting as the key liaison between Megaport’s US business operations and the Commercial Finance team at our Australian headquarters.

 

This critical position plays an integral role in delivering commercial insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring alignment across regions. With a primary focus on supporting the US sales organization, the analyst will contribute to deal evaluation, pricing strategies, commission management, and business expansion.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Commercial Support & Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with US sales and the operations teams to provide financial insights, support strategic decision-making, and act as a trusted finance advisor.
  • Deal & Pricing: Support the US sales team on deal structures through pricing, discount, product and deal structure requests, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and strategies.
  • Partnership & Business Expansion: Evaluate new partnerships and business expansion opportunities with the US sales and partner teams by developing data-driven business cases & recommendations to leadership.
  • Commission Structure & Execution: Support the design, analysis, and management of commission structures, ensuring alignment with company strategies, and the timely and accurate execution of payments.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular financial reports, including performance reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis to drive commercial success. Develop dashboards and enhanced KPI metrics to measure and support the continued success of commercial strategies.
  • Regional Support: Act as the on-the-ground finance contact for the US team, addressing real-time financial queries and coordinating with the Australian team to ensure seamless financial operations.
  • Cross-Regional Collaboration: Bridge time zone and geographical gaps to foster seamless communication with the Australian finance team, sharing insights and best practices.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in a commercial finance or financial planning & analysis (FP&A) role, ideally within a global organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling, Excel, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Salesforce).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, capable of working independently while staying connected to a remote team.
  • Experience working with sales organizations will be highly regarded.
