As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

About the Team

Anduril Developer Services (ADS) aims to provide an end-to-end development and testing service that enables Anduril to build and execute faster. We do this by building tools and capabilities that compress development cycle and span from SW through to system & field testing. Our focus is on delivery: to developers, to customer environments, and more. The mission is to make Anduril an excellent software engineering organization.

About the Role

At Anduril, C++ is core to the development of our vehicle systems. We are seeking to hire a seasoned software engineer to own our C++ development ecosystem. This individual will work closely with other developers in order to promote effective C++ development across the company. An ideal candidate would be an autonomous, empathetic, user-focused engineer who is excited to act as a force multiplier for C++ developers across Anduril.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

    • Own the C++ development ecosystem, including build systems, tools, and core libraries.
    • Establish & promote C++ best practices across Anduril.
    • Embed deeply with C++ development teams in order to understand their workflows and pain points.
    • Lead high-impact projects through requirements analysis, design, and execution.
    • Work with partner teams to understand problems, identify opportunities, and build consensus.
    • Be an advocate for excellent engineering culture across the team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Prior experience with C++ development.
    • Prior engineering experience from the industry, along with academic pursuits & studies in the areas of: Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
    • Familiarity with algorithms, data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, Linux systems, and other technical tools.
    • A desire to work on software and applications that have real-world impact.
    • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Have a bias for action. If you see a problem, you want to solve and fix it.
    • Be naturally curious about the technologies and tools you use.
    • Have a point-of-view, but are still low-ego.
    • Eligibility to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance, preferably Top Secret.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
