As Accounting Manager, you will focus on and own operational and technical accounting in such areas as revenue, investments, equity compensation, and consolidations. You will partner with other members of the finance and accounting teams and strive to attain a high level of accuracy and efficiency in your work. This role requires a combination of heads-down data analysis, technical accounting, and effective communication skills that frame findings and escalate risks appropriately to leadership. 


The ideal candidate will have the ability and desire to roll up your sleeves, wear multiple hats, make contributions that span from booking journal entries to managing projects, and be comfortable interacting across all levels and functions of the organization. What you'll do

  • Partner and collaborate with accounting/finance and cross-functional teammates to assist the Controller in preparing the monthly close package, including a complete set of financial statements and variance analysis.
  • Own operational and technical accounting over such areas as revenue, cost of sales, investments, equity compensation, and accounts receivable. 
  • Reconcile certain balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Work with other accounting and finance team members to enhance the workflows and develop scalable processes to meet the company’s growth.
  • Manage billing and collections, ensuring timely billing and collection of customer dues and setup of reasonable DOS standards.
  • Work closely with our external auditors.
  • Lead delivery of accounting tasks and manage projects related to system and tool enhancement.
  • Document and revise workflows, procedures, and control environments for all areas of ownership.
  • Perform other accounting and finance responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of relevant and progressive work experience, preferably with a mix of public and industry accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in using Excel for data analysis and manipulation.
  • Experience working in a startup environment, particularly with a SaaS company, is a strong plus.
  • Experience with driving projects forward from start to finish.
  • Ability to think strategically, with analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.             
  • Strong knowledge in US GAAP, experience with ASC 606 and ASC 340 are highly desired.
  • Practical experience in enhancing workflows in various accounting cycles and a solid understanding of the concepts of internal control design and operational efficiency.
  • Effective verbal and written communication. 

What we'd like to see

  • CPA (or equivalent, such as CIMA or ACCA).
  • Practical experience in leveraging ERP systems and other accounting tools (e.g., SFDC, ADP, TripActions, and other AP and tech stacks commonly used in accounting).  Experience in Sage/Intacct is a plus
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be able to continually reprioritize, with a tolerance for ambiguity.

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to create effective, deep, and successful working relationships across all levels of the organization.

Pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the estimated base salary range for this role is $110,000 - 140,000. The actual salary may be different depending upon qualifications, experience, and other factors permitted by law. The range listed is just one component of ASAPP’s total compensation package.
