Members of Built In’s engineering team tell the story of how the online community for local tech companies, jobs and news went global.

Since Built In’s launch in 2011, we’ve helped tell the stories of thousands of tech companies across the country, but we haven’t spent much time sharing our own. Simply put, we’ve been busy. Now, after raising a $22 million Series C, we’re ready to tell our story.

Whether it’s the bevy of tech companies in Silicon Valley or the bright lights of New York City, the U.S. has no shortage of major tech hubs, but Southern California proved over the last few years that it is growing just as quickly as its contemporaries. Built In LA spoke with six tech employees who call Southern California home.

Over the past 12 months, the team at Built In LA spoke with dozens of tremendously talented and knowledgeable individuals, learned about cutting-edge technologies and forged relationships in LA and Orange Counties that will last a lifetime, and we had a blast doing it.
