Now that the dust has settled from SXSW, it's a nice time to reflect and look forward to the year ahead. A lot of what we saw at SXSW this year hints at what has changed and what exciting things are to come for our maturing LA tech community.
This year at SXSW Interactive there was a lot of buzz about 3D printing, Elon Musk + Mars and of course #grumpycat. Our company, 4WT Media, is a new player in the burgeoning media space of LA tech and we were thrilled to be a part of the largest gathering of Silicon Beach companies in the history of the fest.
Over twenty exciting companies participated in Radix Collective & DigitalLA's Sunday Funday at Austin favorite Frank which served up an amazing gourmet spread and craft beer. As you all know, LA entrepreneurs are a dynamic bunch, tackling complex issues across many verticals. Our presence at SXSW was no different with companies ranging from Glossi and FastPay to mobile players like MobileRoadie and GonnaBe, as well as major players like Demand Media and PriceGrabber.
It was a blast to be a part of the action and connect with so many talented folks representing Los Angeles in a major way. If this event shows anything, it's that our tech scene can hang with the best of them!
One thing we noticed this year is that the LA startup scene is getting bigger, which was noted in the video we put together interviewing some of your LA tech peers. Check it out!
