Long Beach-based Rock It Games, a game publisher focused on the indie and retro game space, has launched with a mission to support independent developers. The company aims to offer titles that capture the essence of retro gaming while embracing the innovative spirit of the indie game community.
Rock It Games partners with independent developers and IP holders to seek out development and publishing opportunities that maximize the value of a game’s lifecycle. It aims to offer developers greater agency over the titles they create, from development to launch and beyond, including supporting them in areas like marketing, public relations and social media.
The company plans to release up to 10 physical games this year, alongside digital releases. Its first two titles include a new genre for the best-selling game SPACE INVADERS titled SPACE INVADERS Deck Commander - the Board Game as well as the physical release of the indie classic Spooky’s Jump Scare Mansion: HD Renovation for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation5. Both games are slated for release in summer 2024.
