We're looking for a seasoned and enthusiastic Senior Accountant to become a vital member of our Accounting team at Buck Mason! As a key member of our Accounting team, you'll play a pivotal role in executing various accounting functions and ensuring strict adherence to Accounting Principles. Collaborating closely with our business partners, you'll oversee expenditure tracking, uphold accountability standards, and contribute to achieving our financial objectives and overall company success.

DAY TO DAY AND MONTHLY TASKS

  • Prepare journal entries, analyze and reconcile various balance sheet accounts.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Assist in monthly and quarterly internal reviews of key general ledger accounts.
  • Verify inventory costs across our Accounting and Inventory systems to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Utilize diverse software and databases to efficiently generate accounting documents, reports, and reconciliations.
  • Identify and promptly resolve reconciling items.
  • Manage invoicing and payments for Wholesale and Corporate Merchandise accounts receivable.
  • Remit monthly sales tax for all states in Avalara.
  • Prepare and e-file 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC.
  • Contribute to enhancing processes and driving efficiency initiatives within the accounting function.
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager and key business partners to identify overspending or underspending areas and uphold accountability for budget expenditures on a monthly basis.
  • Undertake additional analysis and ad-hoc projects as assigned.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated expertise in a similar accounting capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience in NetSuite.
  • Apparel/Manufacturing Industry is preferred.
  • Innovative thinker and proactive problem-solver.
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities, including the ability to work autonomously, take ownership, and drive results.
  • Versatile and adaptable with an entrepreneurial mindset, thriving in fast-paced environments, while also fostering teamwork through effective communication.
