The Deal Desk Manager plays a vital role in helping R365 continue to scale the business. The Manager will streamline quote-to-cash processes in collaboration across departments and lead a team of Deal Desk professionals to ensure we are constructing the best deals within parameters of SaaS accounting principles and internal booking guidelines.
How you'll add value:
- Build, lead, and develop the Deal Desk team, processes, and governance as a partner with Sales and other stakeholders.
- Review and optimize quote-to-cash processes and governance and continuously evolve it.
- Advise the Head of Deal Strategy and Operations on all deal-related activities, including alternative contract options and value propositioning to help close deals.
- Document and own the quote management and ensuring compliance with published sales and business approval policies, as well as legal and revenue recognition policies.
- Ensure clarification and enforcement of trading guidelines and business processes along with the enablement team.
- Develop and drive initiatives to improve productivity, streamline company deal policies, and simplify processes.
- Be the point of escalation for complex quotes and deals.
- Work with the Sales Enablement Team on relevant training to new and existing Sales team members on processes and best practices that lead to successful deal closures.
- Collaborate with Accounting on billing issues resolution.
- Identify, plan, and execute on opportunities for automations and improvements.
- Project manage or assist with projects as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you'll need to be successful in this role:
- Minimum 3 - 4 years Deal Desk or Sales Operations experience in B2B SaaS sales.
- Proven success building, leading, and managing a SaaS/B2B Deal Desk or Sales Operations team.
- Excellent understanding of end of month and end of quarter closing procedures, software revenue recognition, and order process principles.
- Excellent understanding of Salesforce and CPQ.
- Understanding of ERP software and interaction with Salesforce.
- Strong experience in contracting and negotiations.
- Track record for keeping up with deliverables and deadlines.
- Clear business acumen to drive revenue.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize at times of high-volume during end of month and quarter.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to relate deal desk solutions to business terminology and goals effectively and concisely to executives, team members and others.
- Ability to understand and adapt to continuously changing environment with complex challenges.
- Excellent understanding of revenue recognition principles.
- Experience working in both startups and public companies with high growth.
- Experience in Direct and Channel sales models.
- Knowledge of Sage Intacct and mapping the data to Salesforce.
- Understanding of usage billing.
- Salesforce Admin Certification.
