POSITION PURPOSE

The Manager (CreditFunds) FP&A is responsible for preparing quantitative and qualitative analysis to support the strategic objectives of CIM’s debt funds and providing actionable recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage tracking of commercial real estate, middle market and CMBS loans
  • Coordinate with other Portfolio Oversight, Investments, Treasury, Loan Services Group and Asset FP&A on latest loan status. For example, workouts or other loan modifications.
  • Maintain models that serve as the primary source of fund-level financial projections. Become an expert at analyzing asset-level and fund-level capitalization and incorporating the waterfalls of complex financing arrangements, co-investments, strategic partnerships and partnership allocations into models.
  • Provide exceptional client service to Portfolio Oversights and serve as the primary point of contact for Fund FP&A on the portfolio management teams. Clearly and pro-actively communicate the results of financial analysis to the portfolio management team,

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in leveraged finance and knowledge of debt products
  • Heavy financial modeling experience is required. Experience should encompass full financial statement modeling, developing financial projections and conducting business valuation. In addition, candidates should understand leveraged finance concepts and be familiar with a variety of corporate capital structures
  • CPA/CFA designations are a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree 

ABOUT YOU:

  • Ability to work independently and to proactively evaluate and address work opportunities within the area of responsibility.
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented.
  • Mastery of key investment metrics (IRR, ROI, etc.).
  • Ability to apply general finance mathematics (forecasting, discounting, etc.).
  • Cash flow modeling including property, debt instrument, joint venture, co-invest and fund level operations, fee, and inventive calculations.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex agreements.
  • Ability to analyze and present large amounts of in information in a manner that is clear, concise and actionable.
  • Demonstrated ability to form effective business relationships with clients, peers, customers and other key contacts, ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Direct interaction with senior management.

PERFORMANCE METRICS:

  • Accuracy in work product.
  • Timeliness in completion of work product.
  • Presentation ability (verbal and deliverables).
  • Actionable value-add analysis.
  • Understanding of complex accounting and tax issues and their impact on operations, cash flows, and investment returns.

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required.


At CIM, base pay is one part of the total compensation package. This role is eligible for bonus pay in addition to base salary. The anticipated base salary range for the position in Los Angeles is $120,000- $160,000.
