Avant is revolutionizing access to credit by innovative mathematical models. As part of our Data Science team, you will leverage our fast growing structured and unstructured dataset to improve default prediction, marketing analytics, and ultimately pricing. Your models will have direct impact on our customers with financing options at fair cost.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, quantitative finance or other programming related fields from a top tier school
- Experience in statistics, machine learning modeling techniques
- Expertise in at least one statistical software package, preferably R
- Basic skills in a scripting language such as Python
- Able to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Expertise in applied statistics, including regression models, GLM, and tree based models (e.g. Boosting, Random Forest) preferred
- Familiarity with Object-Oriented Design (OOD) concept and functional programming a plus
